I've never seen anything that didn't have at least one foot in the sea on marinetraffic!

How far offshore is the rig?

ETA - found 'em both. Every day's a schoolday, as they say!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,569 ✭✭✭kub

SAR must be having a cuppa on the rig there seems to be no panic.

Just spotted them at 23:26 and appear to be heading back to base, thankfully

I was just scoutin' around on marine traffic, there's a fair few MMSI codes starting with 'SAR' so they're not all Rescue heli's (I think there's 4 Sikorsky S-92's in ireland going by the Irish Coast Guard Wiki). Anyone know what the other ones might be?

You have to refresh the screen every so often. It's not a stream just a snap shot in time.

It would be very interesting to see what exactly these planes are bringing in or collecting!!

Is there any way of finding out? This is the 3rd or 4th time an AN has been into Shannon in recent weeks.

Hopefully all 8 leave the production line, no promises, test flight crashes are regular with this crowd and the paparazzi Magpies pick over the wreckage before emergency services arrive.

    Callsign: MechTit2 through to MechTit9:D

I hope they're fitted with a transponder so we can track them :D
