    That's all accurate though :D:D

Yep the early megane twos the windows alright and some had electric problems in some of the early ones although none of the facelift mk2 or mk3 gave electric trouble. As for keys going wrong it was fairly rare on them.

I don't know, even our Fluence which is only 2 and a bit years old has some dodgy key shenanigans going on.

The mkII megane - Where electric windows go to die.

I don't think the facelift 06 onwards mk2 gave a whole lot of electric window trouble the early mk2 were a disaster though. My point is what I hate and there was a thread on here recently about it because the meganes years ago were bad there is an automatic assumption by people that the mk3 or a brand new megane will be just as bad even though they are a completly different car. But I suppose it's like that with anything very difficult to shake the bad reputation.

But wouldn't people be right in not trusting the new version of something that gave shocking trouble that everyone's heard about?

Well the megane 3 is out since 2009 It would be different if it only came out last year and they weren't old enough to judge their reliability. Tbh the megane and all its competition is going to have the odd issue you can't expect them to be as reliable as a 20 year car that has half the components. My point is a megane 3 is no worse reliabilty wise than a focus or mk6 golf etc yet the vast majority would say a golf and focus would be far more reliable.

Sure a friends diesel golf shat a conrod the other week. I'd rather deal with a broken window anyday. Replacement regs a 30 quid or 70 with a motor. Easy enough to fit. Cards are easy to get fixed. You can get 2 new ones for 200 quid that will last you the remaining life of the car once you dont abuse them. Renaults engines are one of the best imo. Good power/litre, very reliable and never leak or burn oil. The 1.5 dci is awesome, for a 1450cc or so td it is anyway.

Sure them meganes are a woeful piece of sh!t altogether.

Careful with that kind of talk, I heard someone on here has bought one.

In other news I have decided my new kei car will be one of the following 2 with possibly the least amount of HP on boards but will have AWD and hopfully a turbo.

And them without a lift or a bit. Very advanced gazebo they have that it would cater for all those jobs.

I thought it was old age, " heaters nowadays"
    But this was the culprit.

That's a bad case of out-of-focus thermostat right there lad. Worst I've seen :-)

If I could get a 2010 one of them for under €3.5k, then yeah I would consider them:)

I want something a bit left field any how. I am sure I can convince my self to like anything...

I'm glad to be rid of my bxe although that wasn't the reason I sold it it's still a bonus. The thoughts of having something going from being worth 7k to sub 1k euro in a second was scary. Also no advanced warning or nothing one minute fine the next gone very unpredictable altoghether.

I know of someone who had a 08 passat bxe 60k miles with full vw service history he babied it and had it from new conrod straight up through the engine you would be so sick whatever about one with 150k miles but 60k,

You guys have me in stitches
Just changed brake light bulb on 1976 Datsun100A
Two mins , had bulb universal in the shed
Open.bonnet and battery smiles at you!
    MOT today
Passed but advised to re do some underseal for future benefit
Washer wasent pumping so removed from the water bag and tapped on the brick wall
    Perfect
Toasty heater with two speed fan
Electric fan still cutting in and out
So not bad for 39 year old girl
Modern cars a disaster for humanity
Main dealers seem to want to put their own spin on warranty
In the 70s warranty cost Datsun £2.50 for each new car in the 12 months

My mothers octavia is after been crashed into while it was parked. The person that done it admitted it and all but apparently there is a lot of damage some serious sickner having to get a completly original car sprayed.

How can someone crash into a parked car? what if it was some kid standing on a path. Was it a young or old driver?

It was my mothers boss to make it worse so not like she can go crazy on how much it will cost. Bumper, front passenger door, possibly sill he damaged the paint on the alloy but by looks of it didn't damage suspension which would worry me the most. I'll jack it up and take of the wheel and have a proper look. She sent me a picture there it's very bad tbh.

Bp no disrespect but I'd get a garage to put it on a lift rather than trying to see yourself in the yard.
    They'd see a lot more.

She had it over in a crash repair place and they looked at it and said the suspension was fine but they didn't have it on a lift or anything ah I will have a look and if I notice anything off I'll get her to bring it too a garage to get them to put it on a lift. I mean if someone bent the front wheel I doubt the car would feel perfect to drive. The crash repair place drove it too and said it was fine. She is fairly disgusted about the whole thing as she is going on holidays in two weeks and wants it sorted by them.

Annoying having to give a car paint when it's never had it. It will be the first thing that's picked up on when she goes to trade it in. Anyway I'll have a look and through up a picture when I see it in a while it will definitely need a new wing and the door is damaged.

I have to say, it's a crap thing to happen, especially on a car as original and standard as the mammys Octavia. My 156 has never been crashed but has had some touch up paint. I'd hate the thought of knowing a car of mine was crashed.
