It's a lot easier to get sex nowadays because people are more sexually liberated these days as the Catholic church doesn't have as much influence as it one had. Escort Ireland has helped in that regard too. But actually finding someone special to settle down with is a lot harder now I reckon.

Why is boards so full of whiney little man children recently?

"My mum always told me i'm the most handsome boy in the world but all the mean girls don't seem to think so.... Waaaaaaahhhhh" :(

There was a survey published last week saying that the current and future generations have little in the way of social skills in dealing with real women, it's a specific form of shyness.

Deadly serious, true story and all that. One of the reasons is due to the amount of on-line porn they watch so have don't have the mad skills us oldies have in talking to the ladies.

    Just pay the escort overtime.

    Like... 30-40 years overtime.

I don't think its harder to find someone to settle down with to be honest. Any of my friends age group of 25-27 have found girlfriends when they want one without to much of a bother.

Before smartphones people just dreamt up other reasons why they shouldn't approach, it's basically the same.

It really isn't. Nightclubs used to be simple places. They were just music, beer, women, that's it. Now they're glorified photo studios where people stand around posing for facebook photos.

Don't know about that. Younger men charm you a way more than older ones.

I dunno, walking up to a women with you hand down your tracker knackers tucked into your white socks doesn't charm the women you should want to charm.

Haha, that's a social stereo type. I've never had anyone described as such approach me.

Was it easier for guys to meet girls back in the old days eg 1960's,70's. ??

For a single guy today it's near impossible to find a girlfriend eg tinder, good looking east European guys etc.

I'm 25 now fed up of the single life

Well, back in the day you'd talk to your local matchmaker, generally paying a fee of a goat or three chickens and a six-pack of porter. She'd organize a match, who you would meet once at the local hop, naturally chaperoned by the parish priest. Now if the priest liked the look of you both, you'd get married next and have a baba on the way nine months later (if less than nine months, no one would say anything to your face, but you could be sure that auntie Brigid would never invite you to visit again), with another one every 10 to 16 months thereafter until yer wife hit her menopause or her uterus fell out - whichever happened first.

It became a lot harder with the advent of the Celtic Tiger. People started having these career yokes, and so they'd end up in the pub less often. A decrease in romance was inevitable, as, sure, how are you supposed to feel romantic without a couple of drinks in you - or her, so she can block out the voice of old sister Assumpta in her head, telling her how what she was doing was vile, dirty and a sin. Men were luckier as priests said very different things to us when we were boys and alone in the confessional.

Alcohol has been the backbone of Irish romance for centuries. How else could the ginger gene have persisted, when it's gone extinct in almost every culture that's been forced to court stone cold sober. Sure, one in two Arabs were gingers at the time of Mohammad.

Increases in marital breakups, HIV, unmarried mothers and gahy marriage can all be traced back to people spending less time in the pub. Won't someone, who isn't in the priesthood, please think of the children?

That has always been the case. It could be because the younger guys would make so much more effort to impress older women.

They have to make the extra effort, because all the younger women, their own age, are already taken by the older guys.

Tinder,POF, Instagram etc have all made the most average looking women think they are Katie Perry due to the randy nature of Irish men liking everything and anything therefore making it extremely difficult to pull birds.

    **** you Social Media :)

Online dating has created a window shopping mentality when it comes to finding a partner. Men generally out number the women on these sites. For the women its like walking into Tesco. You have multiple aisles with a plethora of options. You can pick something up, put it back, try something else. For the men its like walking into Aldi, only most of the items aren't for sale; they're just there for show. There's just one shelf at the back of the shop with available items and there's a queue a fcuking mile long to get to it.

It's easier to be unfaithful and harder to find the innocence of true love.
