Sky Arts last night had David Bowie Live - from Dublin in 2003 on the 'Reality' tour.

    Were YOU there?

*points to no one in particular*

Well, I was there last night. Unfortunately, I spent the first decade of this century out to lunch. Bowie would understand.

Yep, it was the first time I had seen disclaimer notices on the way into a gig about DVD recording, great night - definitely one for the bucket list.

'Five Years' followed by 'Hang On To Yourself'! Oh yeah! :)

Saw him at Glastonbury 2000 - superb. Would definitely love to see him live again, although the odds of him touring now are slim :(

He was due to headline Oxegen one year, and he had to pull out after having Heart problems. He did the occasional gig afterwards, but he has never really toured since.

I was gutted. I still am. I think he will be the one that got away. But such is life and all that.

    Gutted I missed that.

    That's the one, Donie.

They were very good, but they were already announced on the bill. They were just moved up the bill when Bowie pulled out.

It always got bad press (some of it justifiably) but I had some brilliant times there.

I remember rushing between three stages to catch bits of New Order, James Brown and Foo Fighters who were all headlining different stages one year. Amazing lineups in the early years.

I'd say Kevin loves it when people want to talk about The Undertones, when he is trying to get a bit of work done :)

    The Flying V.

Easily my least favourite of the standard gitar types.

Poor audience expecting The Jam or The Specials to be on, instead they get Jazz Odyssey.

Jesus this Bach bit isn't really to my taste.

Although it does remind me of the mall scene atthe end of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, which ruled in the extreme.

Helloooo all you BBC4 people. Long time no see!

These guys sound like Horslips rip-offs, no?

And (channelling my granny here) didn't Legs & Co look nice and healthy compared to the stick insects on the telly these days?

Oh it's great to have a weekend night free to watch all this blast from the past stuff!

Anyone else feeling slightly seasick watching these guys???

They have to all be on pogo sticks, or something. Nobody can be that bouncy naturally......

I was well of an age to be watching these TOTP shows.... how come I only know about 1 in 5 of the songs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

If I ever saw The Buggles in concert, I would be hoping they played Video Killed The Radio Star.

A bit like wanting Ralph McTell to play Streets of London
