Homosexuality does not appear to be on the increase, so if we find a way to prevent it, failing to take that action maintains the status quo.

What I want is for my child to grow up without my interfering with his genetics where such interference is unnecessary.

I know it's hard to do comparisons from earlier decades but I wonder has homosexuality increased exponentially with the increase in our population. Now I know the coming out end of things was harder years ago.

I have kids and I would not change them.
If one of them did come home and told me that they are homosexual I would however be very sad and maybe even embarrassed.

Not because of the homosexuality, but because I know they would have to face the intolerant homophobic bigots in our society. I would also suspect I would be embarrassed that we did not resolve some of the issues during our generations time and on a personal level that I did not do more to help resolve the issues of intolerance and inequality sooner, it would sadden me if this issue is allowed to drag on so that yet another generation will have to face it.

I would never abuse a gay person in person. And in fairness i never picked on anyone here. I did raise fair points here. It's easy say things online. It's like Bono when he says the backs of doors on toilets are all clean now because all the abuse is online now

Anyhow I like the ones that do it in person, it means they are easier to avoid or to laugh at.

Well you have them anyways in life. I have gay friends and have to say they are sound lads. But 1 step at a time. People do not change over night. And enda kenny is a total liar. He was staunch anti gay but all of a sudden because the poles read that there was support for gay marriage him and the party turned all of a sudden. It's all just to get the popular votes. Yee might not agree but that's the way it's seems to me.

Oh we always will have them, but this is about giving a group of people an equal right. That's a good first step we can take together, this is a referendum on equal marriage rights. This vote is simply not about how we feel about enda kenny or if he is a liar or not or even what his motivation is.

No matter what the reason we now been given an option as a society to vote on something and I think we should.
