Given the tyre size, I'm gonna guess the Megane too, but to be more specific, the 1.5 dci 6 speed auto or 1.6 dci 6 speed manual.

Astra is still "german", still disel, got the all important smaller engine, got standard 205/55/16 and a shift light.

Would have only cost €1-2k if you got what you wanted for the golf.

Ah. Didn't see he said it was still German. Only saw that it's not VAG so the Astra could be a good shout.

I dont think he did say that. I just doubt he'd stray too far from the motherland :P

Yep because the choice was always going to come down to a golf 1.4 or megane RS :D :pac:

Plenty of time for the fast cars when I have another year or twos NCB and am finished college with a permanent job.

Why buy such new cars bp?
you could have any old fast car taxed and insured for a smidgen of what this will cost i bet.

The depreciation alone on your next car in one year would buy and tax mine I'd say?

Ah tbh I genuinely wouldn't get insurance for anything quick. Also for some reason newer cars seem to have lower insurance. I mean I got insurance for 1160 euro and that was seriously right most quotes were over 2k no one could match that quote within 500.

Amen to that. Some cars will only gain value, finding a nice E36 M3, Corrado VR6 or 190E Cosworth would be money well spent. ;)

Yeah but in that case are you not spending 10k to save 1k?
each to their own etc but i can't see the sense man.

You're my age right? 21 or so? I'm getting quotes of 1500 on my 525i with 2 years named driving and almost 1 years own NCB.

Want to put your car on donedeal but cannot go outside and take proper photos of it? No Problem! Just screenshot the ones you put on Instagram 16 weeks ago. With the right filter, your car will sell in no time!

Well not really because I'm not buying the car to save on insurance as it would have been around the same on the golf. The primary reason for changing was to get an actual car but you all know that at this stage. If I could of found a decent small engined petrol I liked for around 6k Id of bought it but most I looked at were 7-8k 2008 reg high enough miles well worn.

The car I've bought is a good deal for the money and few years younger sure it's a bit more money. It's a good car that I can keep for 2 years or even more if I want where as all the petrols just felt liked they'd be fcuked after a years driving. As well as the fact that a 1.4 petrol screaming at you at 120kmh everyday would be a pain after a while. I'm effectively spending the money up front to save on running costs but still ultimately have a fresher car although it's along way of being brand and I'm under no allusions in that sense.

In fairness those cars aren't exactly littering the roads, there's probably not a clean 190 in the country! And if there is it'll cost you an arm and a leg!

Post 08 for chaep tax , in whatever the band just above 156 is
Shift light so its a car intended for wimminz
205/55/16 tyres on it so something small-medium in size

. Im going to bet the megane aswell

Typing all the spec into google brings up a toyota auris

There was a Toyota Auris for sale in Kilkenny last week on carzone.. Not on it at the moment.. Coincidence? ;)

Actually I might get a new car tomorrow. I'm very very tempted. My father had a quick look at it already, it's not very far away and is cheap. :P

Don't really want to give too much away until I get it though, but you're welcome to have a guess.
