i think you summed that up quite well, but i think the middle sensible aged crowd of car enthusiasts think there is something to be ashamed of by liking a toyota and it's hard to know why that is.

in ireland, at least, i'd have to say the "toyota crowd" are mostly <25 years of age and are fond of showing their ignorance at times, which maybe is what leads to the middle aged crowd wanting to distance themselves, i'm not sure.

how do you find the 86 on a long trip vs the pug? which would you say is a more refined car to drive? which is a more entertaining drive? this has taken a bit of a tangent at this stage

Fairlady's and Skyline GT's, man! And anything with the VK V8! Nissan still make great cars without even mentioning Nismo.

Toyota still make cool stuff too but like with Nissan, most of it doesn't make it over here. The Mark X is the new Mark II/Chaser. Still fast, still RWD, still a drift barge!
Japan are still relevant. :cool:
