That cover of of Comfortably Numb should have landed the Scissor Sisters in The Hague.
I thought the cover was delightfully bent, and I think the album as a whole will go down as a minor modern-day classic.

Ellie Goulding completely murdered Hosier's 'Take me to Church'. The cheek of the little gremlin to think she could even go there

That's one of the few exceptions, its a song about addiction and Cash lived it so did it justice. IIRC he was a speed fiend and at one stage was driven so demented he went to die in a cave.

Cash's version was far too self-pitying. The NIN version isn't a plea for pity, it's about being a disgusting person undeserving of pity. That's my take on the two versions anyway. :D

Johnny Cash also murdered Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus.

    It was just...awful.

Does Kanye West's Bound 2 count? I think Kanye was actually trying to troll people for real with this song.

I'd post a video of Linda Martin doing Get Lucky, but I don't want to look for it, see it, or indeed, get banned for posting.

It took guts to even bring up that "incident". For that you should be proud..

Ronan Keating needs to stay away from all the songs.

As did feckin' Marilyn Manson. Ooh, so edgy Marilyn, the song references Jesus. When Depeche Mode did it, they weren't trying too hard to be shocking.

Remember watching him defile 'She Moved Through the Fair' on telly one evening. It's bonkers how he ever had a career, to be honest. Absolute gowl.

If any song deserves a pass, it's this one...right?!

The definition of conflicted - when one of your favourite artists does a pretty good cover of a song you don't like.

Remember reading before that he really wants to work with Quentin Tarantino. Hey Ronan, I want a few million euro in the bank, doesn't mean it's going to happen! :D
