They are well worth considering, they have some great upshots, but i believe real world economy is TDi at best.

Depends on your driving. If it's only short spins your better off with a petrol. Diesel isn't going to get up to operating temp as quick.

postage rates are depressing, I ordered the cheapest tail lights I could find on yahoo auctions 30 euro(well there were cheaper but they all had scratches) and the postage works out at another 90 euros which is 3 times the price of the item.

These are the ones, Chaser series 2 OME tail lights.

I understand that. What i meant was that they don't really achieve much higher mpg than your average tdi on a run apparently so don't buy one expecting it to run on fresh air.

The Focus i had got great MPG but i used that on the motorway and dual carriage ways for long periods an awful lot so thats why that went well.

I'm Debating getting a car at all because it would only be used for short distance driving and probably only 2 exits on the M50 at most to / from work.

the reason i said a prius is for the reasons i said above there but also I would definitely get petrol again because of the usage the car would get but the prius would be better suited for city driving (driving on battery sometimes and auto box etc.) and then the reason for an 08' would be the cheap tax bracket,

But i just dont know much about toyota's reliability on them and i haven't driving one long enough to know their comfort or what the story is with the batterys and replacing them ?

That is a proper sleeper there.

    Lovely car, always liked Saabs.

0-100 in 8.7s? Not bad at all.

Had a quick look at specs for this model and it appears there were loads of engine options at that time

Haha thanks, I'm a tad find of them myself :o

Yeah its shocking fast, partly because most of it isn't there :pac: airbags? what are they? Abs? No time for that at all! it's literally your seatbelt and thats it, everything else is there for business

I'm gona clean it up monday and slap on a bit of polish and wax and see how it turns out :D

Meant to say it to ya that there's a 900T for sale outside a house on Peters Road in Walkinstown. Might be a good donor car for parts. ;)

Lads, in a spot if bother i think.

Usual commute today, it's always a battle with the celica and it's fuel thimble... aaanyway, got to my destination, car is well into the fuel light but there is a petrol station nearby so i didn't mind.

Tried to start the car later to get fuel and head home, took a ****load of cranking to start the car, i assume because it was so empty and the parking was on a slope, when i filled up i got 42.7 liters into a 45 liter tank so it was pretty empty earlier.

Problem is, now even with a full tank the car takes a lot of cranking to start. Have i ****ed something up?

To Prius or not to Prius ?

    are they worth the money ? I thought you'd get a half decent 08' one for about 4 - 4.5 K now ?

go for it. They're my dirty fetish car. The car I try not to tell anyone I like but I love. Excellent fuel economy decent to drive and unlike an ev, you get across the country without needing to stop for a few hours for some go go juice.

Anyone know of a place in Cork that sells AuotSol? Really need to get my exhaust tip in better condition.

    Autosol is rubbish these days.

I've a tube dating from the 90s out in the shed. Deadly stuff, I think they've had the less environmentally friendly ingredients have been removed.

It sounds like it may have picked up some debris from the bottom of the tank. If it continues to be a hard starter I would change the fuel filter.

I kinda like the idea tbh. I track my mileage per tank and read ecodriving forums. I got into that after driving a super thirsty Merc A class.

I wouldn't mind having a drive in a prius to see how they are. I'm not in a position to buy one now but may do as a second car (but primary) in the future. I want the next car to be a post-08 petrol auto, but they're slim on the ground.

While ye're just talking about that, but there is a black 4 door 900 just sitting outside a friend of my mother's house in Clontarf, it looks like it's been there a while, I've asked her about it before and she just says it belongs to one of the neighbor's. Awful shame to see it sitting there

If i find a nice 08 for less than 5k than it may be a serious goer....

Go for it. A nicely specced Prius is an enjoyable car. The jbl stereo is quite good, the auto park etc is novel for a 2004 model car.
Not a fan of leather in them though.
    I'd nearly buy one.

Dunno about getting a decent one for 4.5k though. I think you're a bit out there.

Bumper will be fine, just don't fit a splitter (aptly named)

Kind of like the look of the splitters but no point making it too low be a nightmare then. You thinking heading to airside?
