I really hope she turns up safe and sound. This kind of story and the Jill Meaghar really freak me out! Of course disappearances like this aren't an every day occurrence but it just takes that one unlucky occurrence on a night out for things to go so wrong.

Hopefully the two stories are worlds apart and everything turns out OK.

The links that were previously posted are now dead links. The stories have been removed. A Twitter feed from the scene is saying the police will release a statement tonight when they have confirmation https://mobile.twitter.com/georgiekeate

The Express link is still live and has been updated at 10pm. It still mentions that a body is 'reported' to have been found

Just because it's a shitty rag doesn't mean that what they say has no truth to it. It just means that they're scumbags that don't care about normal procedures when it comes to reporting this stuff.

I think maybe that they're updating it yet again. I removed the link anyway because they don't deserve the page views.

In what way have the cops been brilliant?

They kept the media at arms lengthand on a need to know basis.
They appear to have implemented a major incident.plan and executed it to optimum effect.
Im iinterested to hear if you have any criticisms of them based on the little we've seen so far.

Totally! Its so important to stay in a group! Stay indoors until yours lift/taxi is there! So important, maybe I watch too much tv but you cannot trust anyone these days!
Have a friend you can trust with you also, I have one friend who I would trust to get me home if I had a few too many!
I have in the past brought friends home because they were in a state! Be on alert always regardless of a night out or not, there is crazies everywhere!

Your post is a bit hysterical to be honest.

Works for me. This is now the the 3rd version of the story I've seen from their site. Basically the same story but they've amended it a bit to say "amid reports" which "police denied", they have also removed the original "the grim discovery was made after 5pm" paragraph completely which was present in the first 2 versions.

There is absolutely no reason to be so rude and dismissive. You don't know what has happened. None of us do yet. How about respecting other people's point of view.

I do think it's important to remember that the vast majority of nights out don't end in anything untoward.

If I was your man who she had the one night stand with I would be in an awful way. Whether she left his place at his request or else of her own initiative it is awful to think that she would not have gone missing had she stayed the full night. He is being described as a suspect, which he was, but no longer is according to police so is going to be made feel like he had something to do with it by the media and people on the street.

He's currently being held for questioning for what police are saying is a definite line of enquiry. He's the prime suspect.

If they needed that many Fire Brigade is it possible they were attempting a rescue of some sort? Considering they're often called to cut people out of cars etc.... They're unusual at this type of crime-scene as far as I know so maybe they had equipment the police needed. Pure speculation of course.

    I'm probably being too hopeful.

Police also asked near by residents of they had noticed any recent bonfires. That's worrying.

I don't think there's any light at the end of the tunnel here :(

It was said in the report on Sky TV earlier that the local farmer was asked by police if there were there any fires lit in the area in the last few days.

Oh right, I'm obviously way out of touch. I only heard about this missing girl in a taxi home from work this evening.

So police say she went back seemingly willingly, then CCTV showed her leaving by herself at 4am and someone saw her walking by herself?

Edit; you need to provide me with your source that says your man is the prime suspect as the guardian has a quote from the lead detective ruling him out as a suspect.

Desperately sad story. To make just 1 small error, and it ends like that. Heart breaking.

Hang the scumbag up the balls.

Well done to the police & people of Glasgow who really rowed in with assistance.

It's all over the place and is essentially random tidbits of the whole thing thrown into an article in no chronological order. The fact they have cordoned off the farm, way off the beaten track and gone in with lots of fire crew implies that there is something buried in a spot that is tough to get to. Not looking good.
