OK forget it was a black dude for a second.

Suppose some drunk young hot white blonde college cheerleader is being arrested and this rich old fart who bought his badge so he can make a wish shoots her instead of tasing her?

Is the young hot white blonde college cheerleader also a drugs and weapons dealer?

Good grief brah, follow the trail of logic before jumping on the false outrage.

Not that this person deserved to die for his crimes against society.

well we both agree on that much at least. He shouldnt have been a cop.

Yes we do agree on that he shouldn't of been but any cop should not make that mistake if they are properly trained which is why I posted that video it shows the difference in the weapons he also explains it all

I realy don't wana get into the racism etc debate if the guy needed to be tazed fine taze em but a properly trained officer should not pull a fire arm instead of a tazer but then to also fire the weapon without realising....... Idiot

Just to put it out there if he actually required his gun and pulled a tazer by mistake he'd of been up sh1t creek so it all shows he should not have been there as he wasn't trained properly

I dont think there is any doubt that he wasnt trained properly. if he was trained at all. he was essentially was on a ride-along

Wow, just wow. Every year America is starting to resemble a Hunger Games/ Purge society more and more.

Was the guy beaten up by the group of cops caught by the news crew in the helicopter not white? Seems to be very little coverage of that for some reason..........

I always view these threads as being created purely to satisfy the anti-america bias of some posters.

Never see any threads on South African police killings.

What is peoples fixation with the U.S?

    Its pathetic

The U.S. is the most powerful nation on the planet in terms of economy, military prowess, neo imperialism and cultural impact. It presents itself as a beacon of freedom for the rest of the planet and has more influence than any nation on Earth.

You clearly have, if you felt an uncontrollable desire to declare a post "nonsense" without actually explaining what made you feel that way, i.e a discussion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 521 ✭✭✭DavidRamsay99

what, that people pay to become police so that they legally shoot people? That isnt hyperbole? which is a polite way of saying absolute nonsense. The guy is facing criminal charges over this.

If there was no video of this there would be no charges.

In the old days cops carried a "drop gun" if something like this happened.

and how do you jump from that to him deliberately shooting the victim?

There was a San Fracisco transit cop who did the exact same thing as this guy a few years ago

Iv no idea but may not be stupidity could be panic but it shouldn't happen

The most damning thing about this is the reaction of the professional cops.
Harris realises he is shot and he is dying and says he can't breath.
The cop says "F*ck your breath."

Basically if you are poor and black your life doesn't matter.

There is nothing but wall to wall defense by the police department of Bates. No sh*t!

Lots of things shouldn't happen, but do. Theres no way to eliminate the human error part without eliminating the human part altogether.

Must've been an old KKK member reliving the old days till the sudden realization kicked in, forcing out a "sorry" with bile frothing from the mouth in absolute disgust.

The guy who got shot has the same name as one of the kids who shot up Columbine. What a weird coincidence.

Why does the media only care when the cop is white?

Who da fuck in their right mind would pay to be a cop?

The NAACP, ACLU, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson et al don't really give a crap about white people.

One thing I find interesting is how everyone is focused on the 'playing cop' part. I think people imagine some insane 10 year training program where young people go in, and come out grizzled ex-military types who have seen it all, fear nothing, and never make a mistake.

In some US states - cops receive *12 weeks* of training. The average is 19 weeks. After that, CONGRATS, HERE IS YOUR GUN! Usually they are in a probationary period for a while after that, but they work the streets just like everyone else.

The youngest you can be is 18 years old. Most US states require 21, but either way.

It's not a particularly high bar.

I read somewhere that the cops didn't know there was a gun fired....likely story! Guns are LOUD!!

I've heard of "outfitters" in the USA, farms stocked with African wildlife. Rich people pay to "hunt" the wild animals.

This is something like that but with humans, or like the film "Westworld".

^ that sounds like the short story "the most dangerous game"

Surely a guy out on a cruise with real cops should have been carrying any weapons at all, be it tazer or real gun?

He shouldn't have been out there with real cops in the first place
