I'd love a try before you buy option. Or a downloadable tool to tell me how my system specs fare out.
I'm not willing to drop another €60 on this game without knowing if my laptop will handle it.
My desktop is way too old for it. Came out during Vista's life cycle

Looking fantastic though!

Select the game (in this case GTA 5) and it will tell you how it will fare on your pc based on your specs.

Ah yes, thanks, have used that site before and it says i'm good specs wise.
Just something in the back of my mind cos of how bad the port of IV was at the start.

Actually just booted up GTA IV there on max specs and it ran pretty smooth, so it's making me think positive about V

Any benefit getting this through Steam instead of through Rockstar? I assume you'll still be able to play with mates that are using the other one?

The main benefit I gather is the preload downloads quicker on steam. On another thread it is slow with rockstar that is with guys with fast internet.

If you put Rockstar key on Steam as a non-Steam game, would it work (for pre-load), or do you have to wait until after release?

Not 100% sure what you're asking, but you will only be able to use a Rockstar key on Rockstars Social Club, but you can preload it from there, so it would be ready for launch (internet speed depending). You can later add the game to steam as a non-Steam game, but thats esentially just sticking a shortcut in Steam.

Yep was getting that myself. Had to keep pausing, resuming, restarting etc. It would go up to 28MB/sec at times then drop right down. I'd say it took a few hours in all to get the whole thing but should have taken half an hour at the most.

I was at around 99% downloaded, but the installer said i needed to free up 350mb of space (i installed it on my SSD). I freed up around 5gb, and hit retry...and the downloader went back to around 40% with over 30gb to download again.

I just "bought" a key at onelinekeystore... I don't seem to have received the key in my email yet

How does all this work? do I pre-download the game somewhere, then apply the key on the day itself or what?

I've lost a few Gigabytes a few time when the connection goes. Bull ****. I have a crap connection as well. My computer has not turned off since it first was available to download. I'm on 28.49GB It was above 30 a few times. I come back connection gone and back to where I started. I'm regretting not getting it on steam. I reckon on steam I would have it fully downloaded now even on my crap connection.
