What with the beautiful weather we're having at the moment (Dublin is hotter than Athens today!) it seems to be the perfect weather to have a picnic in the park.

Do AHers go on picnics? I remember going on quite a few as a young child and they were great. I'll be going to a picnic meet up in early May of another internet forum that I'm an admin on. Really looking forward to it!:)

Nice to have them now before the wasps come in to ruin everything.

    I don't like wasps.

No. I was approached by a giant novelty Mickey Mouse while having a picnic at Disney Land many years ago. It was all very uncomfortable and if I were to have a picnic now it would bring back quite a lot of horrible memories.

    Yes indeed...

A lovely day like today, fresh crusty bread, houmous, cold meats, bottle of wine & some good company in the Botanical Gardens...what more could you ask for?

You're thinking of that time George Michael was caught with the chocolate bar up his backside.

He said it was a careless wispa.

Picnics can be delightful. Whats better than an afternoon picnic on a hot summer's day in the park, with the beautiful aroma of un-emptied rubbish bins and steaming hot dog feces on the nearby park grass gently caressing your nostrils.

I love picnics, with the right food. Hot chicken, soft crusty bread, ice cream, cold water, nice day and all, lovely it is.

I'm sensing a lot of negativity here people. :( Why can't you go out and have a lovely picnic on a nice day? It doesn't cost the Earth and can be very enjoyable.

Cause my probation officer says I'm not to be in the park.

I've never had a picnic, unless you count sandwiches with sheep shite on them and tae from a jamjar.

A picnic would be lovely only in our house everyone would expect a feed before they went on the picnic and who would have to make it ME.
Then they would eat whatever I made for the picnic before we would even get out of the house.
Then they would expect another feed when we got back from the picnic because after all we didnt eat real food it was only a picnic.

Not going to be caught a second time with that caper

I think it's 15 years since we last went on a picnic. Flies trying to get at the food, wasps trying to get in the drinks, meh, now I remember why we don't do BBQs or picnics. :D

Yeah. Taking the kids to the park tomorrow. Play ball and bring some food and a big blanket. Better than being inside.

I absolutely adore a picnic on a lovely weekend day during the Summer. My partner and I will put together some salads, say a radish and apple salad, a cucumber and carrot salad a with dill horseradish dressing, some pickled vegetables, a nice nutty cheese, some cured meats, fresh bread and a nice bottle of chilled Riesling. Head out a local lake or forest and spend the afternoon eating, talking, and just spending some quality time with each other. It's good for the soul and the mind.
