There is currently 5 aircraft in Europe bound for Dublin. By the time these arrive the trans Atlantic's won't be too far away, so a constant flow of traffic all night for DUB.

On duty? I wish I had a job in aviation. May look into it some day.

Nope I'm just finishing a film that I underestimated the length of. (By 1hr 30mins)

    Please don't hurt me!

The ground readback was a bit rushed sounding, and the FR24 reading was showing it still high in the air but oh well sorry ok!

If there was a go around I'd bring into question the pilots confidence.

Jesus never heard the wind here in Luton so bad, well bad enough to rock the house a bit anyway. No go arounds at LTN though!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,487 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

    Luton 29kts G40kts.

    Yep bad enough there.

Still, here In west Clare its very loud and strong. Well used to it though, so little damage when the wind does come.

There's two EZYs late into LTN in about an hour, we'll see... The main reason for go arounds here seems to be rabbits on the runway.

FR108 off from SNN, with a delay of nearly 5 hours.

I've been delayed 8 hours in Shannon before. It gets a little boring after 7, but I just watched the planes and sat in the luxurious BA gate lounge for around 3 of the 8.

Was on the LBA to DUB with Stobart last night. I can safely say its the worst approach and landing ive experienced. If the pilots are somehow reading this then massive kudos to you. It seemed you struggled to get it to go down!!! At one point we had passed the perimeter and it felt like a dive angle induced but no descent!!

Also when we got to the bay it seemed like a struggle to switch off the Props...was this due to wind? The disembarkment was a nightmare too...I nearly had to carry an old woman down the steps it was bucking that much!

New York JFK probably. Winds and other factors can alter routes on occasion.

Yep, filling in the A330 shortage, with a titan 767-300 and a 757 from Shannon also being used.

Also, interesting to note, N225AX is the 767 that EI will be leasing this summer.

How come there is a shortage? Did they not delay delivery on new A330's? financial decision?

    Business class fitting delay.

The 767 is being rented for the summer to increase capacity at both Shannon and Dublin.

The 767 used on Boston route at Shannon which frees up a 757 to be used on a third JFK service at DUB.

Completely forgot about that refit that they were doing.
