Any Xbox 1 hardcore players on here? looking for some squad play.

Welcome to join myself and my 2 brothers. We play most evenings. Our game mode is Blood Money, we don't tend to play any other game modes. What is your gamer tag?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 679 ✭✭✭ABitofsense

Fallonious IRL You probably played against me as that's all I play on it now too. I do be on most evening too

Is there a Boards clan from Xbox One on Hardline? I think Miskyboy is also on Xbox One. There would be enough of us to create 2 squads at least in a server?

    Dudes, riddle me this.

I got Hardline via the PSN store on ps4. I bought it the day before release and thought it was just the standard edition, although 70e seemed a lot. There was no mention of bonuses for preordering when I bought it.

Logged into PS the other day and I had a message from PlayStation saying "your Hardline preorder Versatility Pack is available in game under Battlepacks"

Went to game and no such battlepacks. U don't care too much but if it includes a new gun I am all ears

    Any ideas?

Seems there is some weekend 200% or 100% thing going on with XP. I didn't notice myself earning anything extra though

Hotwire seems to be the mode they want you to play 1/12 with 15k points is normal.

If KD is your thing dont play to win on hotwire.

My experience of hotwire so far is constantly winning with 1-0, 2-0 etc. how are you managing to die 12 times in that mode..?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,435 ✭✭✭wandatowell

    Team deathmatches spawning in horrendous.

    So in my death count.

I'm guessing you were playing against someone like me :P

Dunno about negative, I normally go 19/1 or something stupid on there, easy kills :P

Hotwire is brilliant, my favourite mode by far. The satisfaction when you take down a car full of people is unreal, either on foot or hanging out the window of a pursing/escaping car being driven by a teammate.

Also deadly that stingers in this game, when you find them, are absolutely lethal, taking down helicopters with a single hit.

I was afraid that the game would be too much like BF4 with a new cops and robbers skin - and it is in Conquest to a large extent, but game modes like Hotwire really set it apart as it's own game.

I was skeptical even when I bought it for €40, but I already feel it's money well spent.

Will give the single player a go at some stage as well, thought the SP in BF4 was pretty okay if unremarkable, the whole cops and robbers thing could be a nice take especially from a new developer who have previously only developed single player games.

I just couldn't get into Hotwire game mode. It feels like driving endlessly in circles.

I only played 3-4 rounds of it. Is there anything I missed.

What platform are you playing on? I always thought that 360 and PS3 versions of Battlefield were totally stupid, large empty maps due to just 24 players (designed to be a 64 player game). Could imagine hotwire being dull on those platforms.

It's definitely not endless driving around otherwise, anything but. It's total mayhem, and it's brilliant. I drive if I get the chance but most of the time I'm hanging out the window shooting at guys on foot, enemy cars in pursuit, helicopters, and so on. Never a dull moment.

    Thoughts on the game lads?

    Thoughts on the game lads?

Really enjoying it so far, just about 60 hours played (and another 40 from the beta), and it's still going strong.

    Good points:
The faster pace is really enjoyable
Blood Money, Heist and Hotwire are really fun game modes.
Rescue and Crosshair are good if you have nine friends to play with - disaster in pub games though!
It's very stable for me on PC and hit reg feels tight
Map design is very good in general

    Bad Points:
Gun balance is pretty bad, first patch incoming shortly though
There's a really annoying random flinch when taking fire, think it's a bug and will be removed, but it's pretty irritating.
Some of the Conquest maps are just too small for 64 players

Personally I'd recommend it, especially if you enjoyed Close Quarters or Dragons Teeth DLC from previous battlefield games.

    *********************

I also just finished unlocking my first syndicate assignment ! Got the mechanics FMG9, probably the easiest to do as repair and vehicle destroyed coins are pretty easy too come by.

Not too bothered by the Operator or Enforcer syndicate guns and won't be touching the Professional one until they change the camera coin requirements - I haven't even been able to get the Mac10 yet :(

One major plus as well, compared to the BF4 launch, while somewhat less complicated of a game, it works pretty much as any game should out of the box.

Except for the absurd weapon balance, which appears got little to no attention at all.

Re Hotwire, yeah that it is brilliant if farming points is your thing.

I reckon those who love this game mode are generally those who play as medic in Battlefield games, i.e. love easy mode.

My ten year old lives Hotwire and I can see why he does as by being a passenger and going 0-5 he can rake in the points. These points are a drug to some and scuw their judgement somewhat. I excuse this for a ten year old, not the traditional BF player though.

To me it is a good addition, a game to play once a week for an hour but cannot see how it is so loved when it is just driving in circles, planting c4 traps or camping with rpg

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭Noxin

I might jump into this. I've been using Planetside 2 as my FPS game lately. It's good, but the lag at times becomes too much.
Where are people buying? Are the extras on the digi delux / ultimate worth it? Is there unique weapons or is everything available through unlocks anyway? (Bar the premium version with ultimate obviously).

That's the key, people don't know how to play that mode and just walk around on foot waiting for a vehicle to drive past. The vehicles just go in big circles farming points.

It is meant to be a car chase, when people get into vehicles and chase each other it is great fun and there is no point farming as cars last no time.

But what happens is one group snipe, one group play tdm in the middle and one group drives around the outside in circles. if I get on a map with good players then it's all out action with car loads chasing each other around shooting out of Windows.

No, those who play medic will be generally worried about their KD, so playing Hotwire is a no no.

Still not getting it. I also drive the car and have only ever died 2 or 3 times in a game of hotwire..

I don't get that either. You obviously can't be driving the car all the time, so you spend a good portion of the game on foot or as a passenger shooting.

I never get strong K: D ratios on Hotwire but it's usually at least close to parity (not that I really care much).

I also find that people don't spam grenade launcher that much either in Hotwire, as the primary weapon in that class is crap for large open maps.

Hotwire provides more opportunities to throw c4 ridden cars & bikes at lads :) So that's me sorted haha

was really on the fence on this. Played singleplayer Friday and regretted buying it. Put on the MP this weekend and loving it.

Also Hotwire is brilliant. Got into a police car and Ted Nugent's Stranglehold started playing - Sold!

So I tried the 64 vs 64 Conquest last night for the first time, I usually play Blood Money. Due to the spawn points and the amount of players it just felt like a free for all or a TDM as opposed to the conquest mode in BF4 or BF4, the amount of snipers was insane, didn't enjoy it at all. I was spawning, running 10-15 metres and being hit by Snipers or vehicles. Rage inducing.

After having a weekend with this, it's growing on me, but really some glaring issues that need adressing quickly while the numbers are there.

No point letting this go until people stop playing it and then trying to yell loud "HEY ITS ALL GOOD COME BACK GUYS HONEST"

I've been playing mostly Hotwire, Bloodmoney and TDM.

TDM is rubbish. It's like gungame mode in CS or something. Spawns are rubbish and you die way to quick. Granted I've got into the swing of hardline and am doing fine, but it's a frustrating mode.

Bloodmoney is a good mode, it's not frantic but it's not slow either. The distances between vaults and money is a bit short on some maps, so pockets of chaos open up that make it a bit messy. But the concept is good and enjoyable.

Hotwire definitly the mode that has interested me the most and I've had most fun in. I've had some class chases being in a cap point evading people chasing me, or in a car chasing down a cap point.

When you are in a good squad it's immense. Had a few instances of good squads where we were wreaking havoc chasing down enemy points etc. The RPG is definitly ruining the mode at the moment, but removing that would be a massive, instant improvement. It's too bull**** just rushing for RPG's and then having a one shot kill, that not only kills the vehicle but racks you up multikills and points. Frustrating when happening to me, too easy whenI'm doing it to others.

Mechanic is obviously the class of choice in Hotwire, and I'm seeing very little need for any other class there. The accompanying grenade launchers are a bit weak, but actually probably right for the game mode. A well placed shot will do the damage. Get close enough and you can do just as much with a rifle. I started in Hotwire as assault and would be stopping cars with just riddling the driver, then picking off passengers.

Gunwise, some balance is definitly needed. There is no reason to go outside the M16 and M416. Once you have them for the assault classes that is pretty much it, get the unlocks you want and there is no point looking into anything else. I'd say they will be nerfed soon enough. Someone mentioned here previously they were bull**** and I didn't see an immediate problem, until I got my hands on one. Really over powered.

SMG's feel a touch too strong also from mid-long range and shotguns feel a bit muck short range, which doesn't make sense.

Recoil doesn't seem to be a thing in this game, which is odd coming from Bf4, and even playing some Bf4 inbetween Hardline sessions. Controlling burst fire, or even single tap would be a winner when it comes to rifles from mid-long range in BF4., Granted I'm a 416 lover, and good with it, I can control the recoil and groupings well over mid-long range on Bf4, it seems a piece of piss on Hardline.

Very much a case of if I see you, your dead. That wasn't the case until I unlocked the M16 or 416, where I'd get the junk on someone, and die first. TTK does seem an immediate change from BF4, where atleast you had time to react, in Hardline your dead before you knew what happened.

Vehicle handling is a bit rough and feels somewhat clunky. The side mounted HMG's on the choppers seem to be garbage. They are pretty much 50cal rounds, that take half a dozen to kill someone. A 9mm SMG can kill you flat dead in a second, yet I've to go overkill with a 50cal on infantry, makes no sense.

Using them on vehicles seems utterly pointless and a waste of time. When in reality they would not only pierce the exterior of a vehicle, but pierce the engine ( its what they are for) I'd say they could do with a little buff, considering how quickly the choppers themselves take damage, and how low they need to be flown making them susceptible to grenade launchers.

I agree with you with the exception of the above comment. The game needs some serious balancing in this area. The SMG and M16, M416 have little to no recoil, while alot of the other guns have plenty of recoil.

For example, the Enforcer class has access to battle rifles, and these rifles are a joke to control. Even when I switch to 1 round burst, they have poor accuracy at range. If you use them in full auto they just jump off the screen and you will be killed instantly by whatever it is you are firing at.

The only thing the Enforcer is good for is the shotgun at close range but outside of that the class is not viable.

Changes that need to happen in my opinion are:

    M16A3 - Increase the recoil
    M416 - Increase the recoil
    AKM - Reduce the damage
    P90 - Reduce the range
    K10 - Reduce the damage
    MPX - Reduce the damage
    SCAR-H - Reduce the recoil
    ACR - Reduce the recoil
SA-50 OSW - Reduce the recoil

They need to make the battle rifles a viable weapon, they are next to useless up close, I know that they are not supposed to be used up close, but the maps dont lend themselves to alot of prolonged ranged fire. You would be better throwing bullets at the enemy up close. The rate of fire being so low vs the recoil makes them fairly ****e.

SMG's in general are overpowered and need a nerf. This is coming from someone who plays Mech purely because they are overpowered as a class. The SMG's range is to far and in some cases the damage per bullet is to high.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,137 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

Well that's kinda my point, there is some obvious guns to use at the moment, with no reason to use others. And the recoil on the obvious choices is ridiculous.

I see no need to look past the HK416, M16 or MPX

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,575 ✭✭✭ZiabR

Some of the proposed changes to the first patch getting ready for launch.

Taken from the BF official patch forms:

K10: Reduce bullet damage to 33
Saiga and PTR: reduce recoil to bring more in line with Cop faction DMRs
HCAR and HK51: reduce recoil to bring more in line with SCAR-H and SA-58
.410 Jury: Increase damage per pellet to become more effective
FMG-9 and M/45: Increase damage per round to 25 and push out falloff start range to make these weapons more effective
Battlerifle min damage increased to 25 across the board
AKM min damage reduced to 24

That's still ridiculous IMO. It needs its RPM decreased as well..even with that change it'll still only take 4 bullets to kill, which, with a 1200 RPM, will take only 1/5 of a second.

Is the K10 really that OP?? I've just compared it against the MPX and UMP 45 stats and would still take either of them over it. Is the RPM the problem?
