At this time, the answer is "wha".

I predict a trip to the Priory then his triumphant return.

I am not a fan of Clarkson, I think his behaviour is appalling and sniggers of machismo and dodgy foreigner references.
If he called the producer an Irish **** it is a racist incident and can not be explained aways with guffaws and apologies as if it were a slip of the tongue.

You're alright in my book, for a Birkenstock-clad hand-wringing Guardianisti Feminazi super-robot from the future. :D

Comparing Clarkson to Savile is like Godwin only more retarded.

Is that a quote from your hero in question or just one of your own.

Telegraph reporting he's going to be sacked tomorrow.

    Huurr durrr.

I'd hope it's common sense to most people who can differentiate between petty, trivial, off color comments and sexual predators.

I can't get the football chant "your getting sacked in the morning" out of my head.

I don't care how popular he was, you can't go around punching your colleagues & he's got his just deserts.

Apparently Chris Evans is being lined up.
At least he's passionate about cars.

Out come he wanted was to shake hands and get on with it, Clarkson wanted that too. Silly little fight over knitting.

If that's the case, why was he 'unavailable' to meet Jezza? On more than one occasion Jezza went to his house to apologise but he was nowhere to be seen.

    Sucks if he's sacked.
Show was good, just needed some new ideas .
Cuunt in a reasonably priced stunt , or something .

No one knows the nature of what happened other than a core group of people - it may have been more serious than people think. Wait for the BBC report in to it.

Still think it best to wait for a BBC announcement but if the article is true, and apparently confirms what was initially reported, I honestly don't know how anyone could defend Clarkson staying on in the show. Put this incident in literally any other workplace, seriously.

Where was it even reported that the producer wanted to "shake hands" anyway? What was the source? It's been said throughout the thread that we'd need to wait to see what really happened, and rightly so, so everything to do with the story needs to be treated in that manner and not just believed because it suits.

And if the producer did say that, it could have been down to fear of losing his job. You just don't know.

Absolutely agree, before we hear the official story, it's a hearsay and speculation.
And if he did punch Oisin and shout abuse at him for 40 minutes, I don't see how he could be kept on. I like Clarkson, but I think he crossed the line from lovable buffoonery into serious abuse and assault. If that is the case, the man needs help.

I think Jezza will take the morning slot on Radio Norwich and in time write a book called Bouncing Back. There may be a Lexus in there somewhere or even Lexi.

20 minutes. Apparently he spent 20 whole minutes verbally abusing a worker before spending another half minute hitting him.

For twenty minutes, an entire production team stood by and let that happen. That is either complete bull****, or the team is comprised of people far worse than Clarkson. Twenty minutes!? If i was standing by on the team, he'd have been wearing his plate before oisin had broken a sweat, there's no way that can happen in real life surely.

A little while ago he posted on twitter that he hasn't heard anything yet (In reference to the newspaper rumours)

I would want to know what the fcuk you would be saying to somebody for 20 minutes and why anybody would just stand there in a public place and just take that abuse. That's not even including the 30 seconds of punching and pushing that went on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,621 ✭✭✭valoren

It's the old bully tactic with Clarkson isn't it.

Says what he wants, does what he wants and when complaints are made and he's called out on his behaviour he comes out with the usual "I was only joking", "What's your problem, I only meant it in jest" etc etc.

    His position is untenable.

I'd be out of steam after 20 seconds. I'd have said what I needed to after 10. I can't wrap my head around it myself. I wouldn't be able to stand for 20 minutes, I'd have to get a chair :D

Some of the eyewitness stuff there should be taken with a pinch, IMO, it's probably a bit exaggerated.

Would Top Gear be successful with Chris Evans? Would any TG fans on here watch it?
