    both very good

Was a bit disappointed tbh. Only Chang and the Dean seemed to be putting in any real effort. The other regulars seemed to just be going through the motions.

It still had a few laughs, but I suppose with the new characters to set up it'll take a few episodes to properly get back into the swing of things.

This should be in the Online TV forum. It's an insult and disrespectful to the good name of that forum not having it there.

I enjoyed both episodes, the vibe is a bit off due to the new characters but I still got some good laughs. Frankie seems like a great addition, I like how she relates to Abed in a new way.

Some of the new visual gags are great, like the fake trailer for Shirley's new show having an NBC logo and this:

Finished off a rewatch of season 5 lover the weekend so hoping to get around to these two new episodes tonight.

The consensus seems to be: "new tone and dynamic but still plenty of lols"

Are we meant to read how OTT that is in Abed's voice?

I think this season has a danger of feeling too much like Scubs season 9 with so many people gone from the original and recent seasons.

Very disappointing, didn't laugh once in the 2nd ep. Poor writing, sad demise to a once great show :(

I think you need to ask yourself truly, is Yahoo! Screen a Television channel or is Yahoo! Screen an internet content provider, that provides content ONLINE? Only then will you know the answer to your question.

okay, I for one fecking loved it

"I had no where else to go."
"No where else to go?! Do you have any idea of how big the planet is?!"

    "JEEEEEEEEEEEESUS WEPT"

The Portuguese-Gremlins trailer had me in tears

The Britta-Parent storyline was bit meh ill admit, but still, alot of good laughs which is what you want from a sitcom

Looking forward to the episodes ahead

    That and:

    "Get out of my trailer!"
"You can't say that like it's a punishment!"

were brilliant moments, I have to admit.

Thanks to my Sky box, I discovered that the new episodes are on Sony TV on Wed night. It recorded eps 1 and 2 yesterday.

It's channel 157 on Sky, don't know if it's on the other platforms. Not HD but might be useful for someone to know.

Hilarious line from Chang at the end of episode two( while out of it from Cat bite ) , speaking to Elroy Patashnik "Is that you Troy !". :)

Just caught episode 1 and yikes, it was like watching the air slowly escape a set of tyres. There's no science to it, but there's definitely a point of no return where a set-up loses so many cast members it also loses all its energy and fizz, that special sparkle. Season 5 side-stepped that with what were the pretty inspired additions of John Oliver and Jonathan Bank's characters, but when even they leave after a single season it just makes the absences feel even more acute. And it doesn't matter how meta you try and be about it, there comes a point where you think maybe the show should quit while it was ahead. You can't reboot the reboot.

The episode was flat, tepid and blatantly padded. Say what you will about network television but that 22 minute running time keeps things focused and pacy. Any fat gets trimmed off by dint of necessity. The 28 minutes of season 6's episode 1 crawled by and frankly I was checking the progress bar by about halfway through. All in all it felt like that awkward point at the end of the party when most people have gone home and you're kicking about with the remaining stragglers, wondering why you bothered staying at all.

    I enjoyed both episodes.

Ep. 1: the montages got a bit tiring after the first two tbh. It was a real surprise to see Yvette Nicole Brown back for the end tag - loved that :) Also Todd! And Nathan Filion!

Ep. 2: Nice to see a bit of background story for Britta, think she was the only main character that hadn't had any family introduced. The Dean was as awesome as ever. This episode reminded me of s1/s2 episodes, which is my favourite era of the show.

    Pros:
    - Paget Brewster looks like she's going to be a good addition.
    - Greendale outside scenes! That really brought back the atmosphere of the earlier seasons. Also think there was more use of music too. And I liked the change in lighting etc.
    - fake trailers.

    Cons:
    - Britta was really ridiculous in both episodes. Like a total cartoon. I know she's been dumbed down through the seasons, but it was worse than ever in these episodes.
    - Chang and the cat bite thing was not at all funny. I've no idea why it was dragged out.

I actually thought that was one of the best bits of the second episode. I rarely enjoy Chang as a character (or an actor) due to being waaaaaaaayyyyyyy too over the top, but I thought he played that entire episode brilliantly.

The cat bite thing came in waves for me. The first bit was great , I rolled my eyes at him wandering the school, but when he said "I'm trying" to Jeff I cracked up. I love Chang when he's a bit subtler with his insanity.

    Went downhill when Chevy left.

Sorry guys, just not on board the Community Season 6 train; that second episode was a bit of a stinker too. A few giggles here and there - Changs dazed remark of "Is that you Troy?" got a laugh from me - but again it just felt flat and more than a little dull.

Couldn't resist going back and watching Season 5, episode 1 just to make sure I'm not overly prejudiced against the change to Yahoo, and the previous season opener was more entertaining; more energy, snappy pacing and better performances.

The first episode had it's moments, but the second episode was just horrific (even worse than "Gas Leak" level of bad)!

Ah now, nothing is worse than Gas Leak year... Even the last 3 seasons of How I Met Your Mother were better than Gas Leak year...

I actually really enjoyed that. Typical behaviour from the Dean. It was stupid, but funny.

It was funny at first - it seemed very Greendale that they'd invest their money in blatantly outdated tech - but like the rest of the episode(s), they rammed the joke into the ground. Guess it's another offshoot of the running time.

most of what i've read has been positive, surprised people here didn't like it.

It wasn't as good as the first 3 seasons, but the episodes were better than the majority of seasons 4 and 5 imo.
