You keep telling yourself that ...

"Get away with it". What was it you were saying earlier about "little children" ?
its the truth. and it has nothing to do with this thread.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

Yet you humored Mint Aero when he/she brought it up ?

Unsubstantiated claims of "it's the truth" sounds childish to me. I think it has plenty to do with a thread where a poster refers to others as "little children".

So that's it for Top Gear then?

It may come back in some form but without Clarkson, May and Hammond it will be totally sh*t.

I'll really miss the specials more to be honest - most enjoyable viewing.

Poor Clarkson. Now his wall has fallen over.

*Or perhaps Stig was practicing Tank maneuvers.

If you punched any of your colleagues you'd be sacked in any walk of life, you shouldn't get away with it because you are popular, good at what you do, have a particular position of authority or whatever period. Because you have a certain celebrity status gives you no right to assault a colleague and keep your job. It's far from a direct comparison and not the same context but that IS the reason why Savile got away with what he did. There needs to be a proper culture within organisations that regardless if it's the guy behind the counter in the canteen, the MD of sales to the on screen talent.. workplace violence wherever and for whatever reason is not right.

If Clarkson was suitably bothered about Top Gear and it's audience he should have held his temper and addressed his concerned in a proper manner in the aftermath. He should have had plenty of weight as the presenter of the show to be listened to and got things sorted, so all those backing Clarkson.. have a think about that.. if your favorite show is no more the book only stops with Clarkson and his actions, Clarkson f*cked it up not the BBC...

As for me... I wasn't so much interested in a show where 3 little englenders ponced around trying to prove that cars were 'just better then everything' week after week and their 'set up' journey's across continent's to do that while being boring, glib and condescending towards just about every race and nationality going just seems to pander to the lowest common denominator...

Don't subscribe to the idea that some minor workplace altercation immediately requires people to be sacked. If some agreement could be made where all parties were happy, I think the show should go on. That's if Clarkson had shut his mouth since the event and then publicly apologised to the guy and for his remarks. But he's actually called his employers "fúcking bástards" and is actually goading them, believing he is too big to be punished! So for that, he deserves to be canned.

    This incessant drivel

What's wrong with them being "Englenders" then?

Clarkson will sum up the ethos of how the show works to you here.

I really don't care that you don't enjoy it. I do.

    So Clarkson's going down? :(
I can only hope Hammond and May stick to their guns and all three take the franchise down with them.

They're not idiots like the BBC, the show is the three of them. No one else.

And the BBC haven't said if he's fired or not yet. I have the candles lit around a picture of him here.

He should be up on charges not just fired.

Easily replaced anyway just get three blokes from the nearest pub to do the show.

Thanks but don't have the urge like some do to lap up every word he says as gospel. Guy is a buffoon. Nothing wrong with being English but a little Englander per say and its general meaning is not something or a trait in somone I find appealing, no more then the Celtic shirt wearing shinner mongs we have here. Like I say, lowest common denominator, have a nice weekend ;)

You can call it drivel though, drivel is a 6 letter word however, sorry keep going you are doing very well !

Diatribe, now how many points will that get you in scrabble ?

Unfortunately your other contributions have no relevance as neither, Celtic, shinner or mongs are a nationality, please tell me you didn't do honours Geography at school, sheesh, the youth of today !

As regards sounds bytes and this PC Brigade fascination... Is that some sort of Clarksonese you pick up on the 'Top Gear' ;) ?

For someone who has no time for the little englander routine, you seem rather bothered by a show you don't even have an interest in. It appealing to the "lowest common denominater" and all.

You have a rather disturbing obsession with nullifying the term political correctness as myth I notice. Do you do that with all terms and words you don't like or agree with ?

"vermin", "not at all", "pc doesn't exist". EOTR's own thesaurus.

I think it's important to separate Clarkson fanboys with fans of Top Gear - I'd consider myself in the latter group.

It's not that the Clarksonettes appreciate Top Gear's fast cars, superb production etc so much as they get a thrill out of their diva prince's perceived sticking it to the feminists, lefties, liberals, caravaners, the working class and whatever you're having yourself.

Mint Aero is a perfect example of what I'm highlighting above. You'll note he has exactly 0 posts in the motoring forum which is 5 less than he has in Fashion and Appearance. If people are any bit familiar with the motoring forum they'll notice names like 'Jimgoose', 'Wibbs' and 'dr.fuzzenstein' who are actual car enthusiasts who probably do appreciate the real stars of TG which are the vehicles, locations and production values.

It's not a myth per say but how it is being applied to people in this thread is just bizarre and incorrect and just used deliberately by a certain somone all be it unsuccessfully so to try and distract from the crux of the debate.

So somone assaults a work colleague over perceived or otherwise sub standard catering arrangements, said somone has a history of being successfully disciplined by employer over behaviour and comments that were overtly racist or at best in bad taste and would have instigated the same or perhaps more harsh results had it been in other walks of life... But hey it's just the PC Brigade right ? Hardly.

I'm disappointed that Clarkson didn't get the teeth knocked out of his head buy the Irish guy - I think it would have then been a put to bed as a 50/50 scrap. Knowing Clarkson's type though he probably chose to abuse someone who he considered non-confrontational. That's how assholes like Clarkson work.

I think by that stage Clarkson would have been a full blown alcoholic (if he isn't already) and be in prison for smashing Richard Hammond's face in.

Does anyone else think it hypocritical of the BBC to cancel / postpone the last three episodes of the current series but keep showing repeats of old episodes on BBC3?
