Oh the financial services side of it. From my understanding, mexico city has quite a bad standard of living and most of the wealth is focused on a select few. This is what confused me. Your average mexican wouldn't be flying as often as your average european.

I would respectfully disagree with it (been to mexico a few times for work, not an expert but am at least experienced)

Mexico city is a pretty modern city - it is completely detached from the drug issues up north. Aside from financial services, there are a lot of call centers and service industry jobs servicing the USA. My own company has their LATAM regional service center in Mexico that supports all of Latin America. Sure, there are dangers but not once in all my time in the city have I had any problems.

As for flights, they have a high number of diaspora in Spain and the UK and have a huge domestic network that is pretty cheap in comparison to EU and US internal flights. Their internal road network is great, but it does pass through some "bandit" areas so people prefer to fly. Their rail network is pretty much non existent.

From Europe, a lot of people use Mexico city as a hub to get to central America and upper South America (Venezuela, Columbia and Bolivia) from Europe as it is easier/cheaper than going via Buenos Aires or Rio/Sao Paolo.

A bit if holding going on around Dublin. FR203 incoming from Stansted went around a few mins ago. Fog is dense here north of Swords

US772, a 757-200 operated by US Airways/American Airlines off to Shannon. Didn't hold for long either.

Probably a smart move, this fog doesn't look to be going anywhere.

Just watched it fly by my house. It has the nose dipped and didn't look like a normal landing.

EI385 holding at 8,000ft outside SNN, probably due to the overweight landing of the Condor.

Edit: dropping altitude but Still holding.

Probably because it was landing in the wrong direction.
