Maybe, I'm a bartender in a restaurant and we literally cannot give the stuff away, for good reason. It's not home made though. I stand by the rest of my post anyway.

It reminds me of the lemonade I've had in Canada or the U.S. except with alcohol. I think 1 or 2 shots of it would be enough.

I think it's mostly used as a digestif anyway. It might be nicer in a cocktail or with a mixer. Speaking of lemonade, we have Fentiman's Victorian Lemonade and it's lovely. It's not overly fizzy which I prefer. Their cola is lovely as well.

Old Speckled Hen- a type of ale, truly rotten awful stuff!

I have had a terrible experience with jager, and as a result even the smell of it turns my stomach. I haven't touched it since.

Mike's Hard Lemonade? Tastes as bad as the usual alcopops, loaded with sugar!

    Boke.

A Czech drink called Becherovka. It would be in the same class of drink as Jagermeister, except that it makes Jagermeister, which is also pretty vile, taste like nectar in comparison.

Jesus thanks for reminding me about this, disgusting stuff. Had about one shot of it, still woke up with the taste of cinnamon. Ugh.

Also nasty is "Pfeffi", a peppermint liquer popular in the former East Germany. Tastes like mouthwash, only worse.

Tbh I really don't like any hard alcohol at all, and never reallu drinki it. Even the worst beer tastes better to me than a lot of well-regarded spirits, much more drinkable. The exceptions being a lovely Russian vodka I had the chance to taste, and a nice whiskey with a smokey taste.

    Creme de menthe.

Be very careful over the next week. It surfaces around Patricks day.

Drambuie. Surprised no one has mentioned that yet. Honourable mention to Harp - vile.

Don't get all the hate for sambuca - I quite like it. Nice to sip after a meal.

I love Sambuca, it's my favourite shot.

Bunratty Poitín. Got it for the laugh from the Winery behind the castle, along with a bottle of meade. Couldn't stand the stuff.

We had to cut through the lid to get at it, so we were worried about leaving the bottle open after. Poured most of it into a spare Ballygowen sports bottle and left it on the top shelf. One of the lads got an awful shock when he brought it to the gym the morning after...

Can stomach most drinks but when it comes to Tequila and Jager I'm out.

Either of those go in and I'm puking 2 minutes later.

Cherry liqueur. So sickeningly sweet it would rot your teeth even thinking about it.

Or raki. Separating people from beasts

I'm surprised limoncello has so much hate in this thread, I think the stuff is great, it's quite sweet, but, I suppose, I like sweet drinks, whereas many others don't, and I made some limoncello myself, rather than buying some in a bottle, I've heard homemade is totally different.

I tried this recently in berlin because it was very cheap. To say it tastes like mouthwash gives the drink too muck credit. Its more like what you'd get if you squeezed a tube of toothpaste into a cup and mixed it with water. Vile stuff. It keeps your breath fresh though.

The purple tin. Tasted like a collection from drip trays at a bar.

Tsikoudia. Or what they call Raki in Crete. Yuck! The honey flavoured one isn't too bad though.
