Kahlua. A 'friend' of mine made me a shot with Kahlua and god knows what else. The night did not end well :(

I actually like gin but I can't drink it, it turns me into a mad woman.

That I actually know the name of is without doubt Genever (Dutch gin). Its a horrible bastard of a drink that no amount of mixer can mask. Worst thing is its so bad people were buying bottles of it for the craic and then we had to drink it.

I love normal (london gin, bombay in particular) but even though dutch gin uses somewhat similar ingredients its tastes horrific.

Ive had one or two worse drinks but dont know what they were.

That bottle of sherry found at the back of the press at 6am in the morning when everything else at the party has been drunk

    The horror... the horror...

Fernet Branca, a herby digestif like unicum but more vile.
Oh, no - it's lovely stuff. It's like Jägermeister for grownups. :D

Worst I ever had was home made Rakia .. Drank it once and then used the rest to light barbecues.

    Samuel Adams.

Also, that yellow lemony aniseed gloopy piss they sometimes comp you with in an Indian restaurant.
Limoncello? Given that they've given us that, Galliano, Sambuca and Grappa, I think Italians should just give up trying to make nice-tasting liqueurs.

Cafe Borgetti, absolute heaven but almost impossible to get except in very specific parts of Italy.

Lemoncello is drinkable, not brilliant but there is a hell of a lot worse.

I won a bottle of "Plum Vodka" in the tombola at the kids' school Christmas fair. It's still in the cupboard after 4 months.

I has one sip, it tasted like dry cleaning fluid. Not that I've ever drunk dry cleaning fluid, it's just that...ah shit. Rumbled.

Drambuie or Tiquila, taste like death.

I knew this serious alcoholic lad who had been known to drink distilled boot polish in times of desperation. I can't imagine it was very nice, I thought I'd add this as I don't think he's on boards.ie, not sure hes alive anymore to be honest. If that wasn't his rock bottom it's hard to think what other possible low there could be for him, toilet duck or domestos on the rocks maybe.

Tequila- Any drink that has to be accompanied by salt and lemon, two fairly unpleasant tastes all on their own, to make it go down easier is not good in my book.

    Vile.
Y'all need to start drinking Margaritas, Tequila is fantastic as long as it's not generic cheap shíte.

Galahad beer from ALDI. It's like saltwater and sand in a can. I remember after a couple of weeks, my stomach was so irritated I couldn't hold down food or milk so I had to quit drinking it.

Bulmers, and cider in general, also make me throw up as soon a I taste it.

That Desperados stuff is sh*te alright.

    Definitely one of the worst.

Blue Aftershock was pretty rank too. That tastes like evil toothpaste.

Is it still out there? Do the young folk still do shots of it when trying to bed each other?

Aldi a few years back had a range of fruit schnappes. Like fruit teas they had the beautiful aromas of the fruits they were made from and just like the teas had zero flavour. At least the teas are tasteless ..... The schnapps just tasted of alcohol. Not horrific but after the yummy promise from the smell they were nasty.

    Craft Beers.

    Yeah all of them.

I rather like the bitters like Fernet Branca and Unicum and Gammel Dansk, but there's a German one called Ratzeputz that's full of pepper and is really difficult to drink. It has a really strong taste and after-taste and smell - Wikipedia claims that the smell has moved out of the town now that they've moved the factory.

We used to play bar billiards in Denmark where the loser bought 2 drinks - a Gammel Dansk for the winner and a Ratzeputz for the loser - one friend beat me and, ahem, got the glasses mixed up, knocked back the wrong one and had to make a dash for the toilet to throw up. :-)

I've had Unicum - vile tasting ****. Like Potpourri in drink form.

The worst thing I've tasted (apart from crappy poitin) was Icelandic Black Death. The bottle came in a coffin shaped box. Essentially it's poitin flavoured with Caraway. Rotten stuff.

Disaronno is a nice Italian liqueur. I see Unicum is mentioned a lot here, but I didn't find it bad at all.

Tequila is horrible stuff. Lagers such as Tennents, Corona, Harp and an old one called Dorfmeister were terrible, even worse than Bud, Coors Light and Molson Canadian.

Blue mixed with red bull is delicious. I'm not even joking. It's like nectar.

I think it's called green diesel when you mix them. I had a few horrible nights on that a few years ago.

Gin and tonic is foul by anyone's standards.

Gin and Tonic is the greatest drink ever invented. You have to train your pallet to enjoy it but my God is it worth it.

Guinness or Absinthe. Guinness is plain nasty. Absinthe doesn't so much taste bad as burn. Really burn.

Gin & tonic with a stick of mango and some black pepper. Now you're talking.
