he is the MOST awkward full back I've ever seen in the league. can't believe he has held on this long

Yeah he's cat. Was taken off after 60 mins the last day so his place could be under threat.

Bit of an odd one if you ask me. He'd been playing well I thought, and more suited to the position than Lescott

Olsson to WBA seems nearly done, and the arrival of the canary will mean bye bye Bairdy..... I'll get my coat....

Big rotation risk and takes up a prime chelsea space. I definitely won't be going near. Terry, Hazard, Costa, Fabregas, Ivanovic and potentially Zouma should all be higher priority for Chelsea coverage.

Baird by far the worst signing of my WC. And I dared ditch Wisdom for him. Sounds madness now. And to be fair maybe it was back then :pac: ...

I always suspected he wouldn't end up first choice, so it was a punt, and in fairness I didn't plan on needing him often, if at all, as I was going strong enough in the rest of my defence (Saints, Chelsea, Arsenal). I just wanted cheap, but would have been better going with Yun or Bruce or somebody like that.

There are reports that snow on the A14 may have played a part in the breakdown of Martin Olsson's proposed move from Norwich to West Brom, and Graham Dorrans' move the other way.

From BBC live text. There's still hope!

Aaron Lennon to Everton loan for the rest of the season. More attacking mids for Roberto to rotate.

Pulis will now have to turn to either Sebastien Pocognoli or Chris Baird for Sunday’s trip to Burnley, unless he again asks Joleon Lescott to deputise at left-back.

Jordan Mutch might be worth a look at Palace. Got 123 points last season and if he gets game time he could put a few goals away. He 's too expensive for the Super Georgie Boyd role but might be a cheaper Stewart Downing if he gets going.

Jedinak will be coming back into the palace side when he returns from the Asian Cup. No idea whether he will go into the starting 11, but his return is an impact to keep in mind.

Lescott had a woeful game at left back. Hopefully Pulis won't try that experiment again any time soon

Yup. And Baird was ahead of Pocognoli to date.

I hardly dare to hope, but will probably be starting Baird this weekend just in case.

Lescott's played LB for a lot of his career.
    At Everton (Jagielka/Yobo CB's)
    At City (Kolo/Kompany CB's)
    For England (Ferdinand/Terry/Cahill CB's)

I'm gonna call BS on this one, I don't remember him ever playing LB for England, maybe 7/8 years ago once off the bench or something, are you talking in friendlies? If so I'm not sure about them but to me an international friendly is no more experience than a pre-season club game.

Yeah obviously not a very successful if none of us can remember it, but there was definitely a time between Cole and Baines that both McLaren and Capello were considering Lescott for the position (other option was Stephen Warnock).

They tried to get Bridge back but he was having his issues with Terry at the time if I remember correctly.

LB is not where Lescott wants to play, as he has made clear lately in the article below. But they didn't get the left back signed so its between JL and Pullis as to whether he continues to play in a position he doesn't want to play.

    http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/2015/02/02/joleon-lescott-urges-albion-to-snap-up-a-left-back/
Lescott spent time at left-back during his Everton career but has previously played in his preferred centre-back role for the Baggies before being switched in to left-back by boss Tony Pulis for the FA Cup win at Birmingham and Saturday’s Premier League loss.

Lescott has been preferred to specialist left-back Sebastien Pocognoli and utility man Chris Baird, who had previously filled in.

He said: “I don’t enjoy it anywhere near as much as centre-half.

“The manager has asked me to do a job and at the current time I can do that but I see myself as centre-half. I came here to play centre-half.

“I feel I have been doing well there. I am sure the manager’s real focus is me playing there and hopefully that is the case. That is what’s best for the team. I am not a left back. I haven’t played there for a number of years. I might be able to play there and hold my own now and again but we need specific players in their right positions. When he named the team it was not the right time to go in and ask his reasons.

Baird isn't a left back either

Russia in 2007 seems to be the only time he played there competitively, got taken off in 2nd half for Lampard, Cole was injured at the time. Hasn't played LB for England since.

I know that, but he'd done quite well there and was playing ahead of Pocognoli who is a left back. Pullis may well want to keep playing Lescott there for the rest of the season, but given Lescotts stance on it I think there is a small chance Lescott may not continue at LB.

If its not Lescott, there's a small chance it could revert to Baird.

I suppose the advantage lescott has is that he is left footed. Who was the left back before Pullis.

I'd say there's more than a small chance Lescott won't continue at left-back. He made it quite clear that he is a centre-back first and foremost and to me it would be plain madness to keep him at full-back when he is way more suited and more natural as a centre-back. Pulis obviously doesn't see a whole lot in Pocognoli otherwise he'd be playing there.

Craig Dawson who came back into the side at the weekend didn't impress by all accounts so I'd say Baird will get his place back and it'll be:

    Wisdom - McAuley - Lescott - Baird

    at the weekend.

I see Schmeichel is back according to the Twitter feed on FFS (whatever that means). There's no guarantee he'll go back into the team but you'd have to assume he will over the next few games. He's now 4.4. I have Panti and Mannone so he's an easy switch for me for Mannone.

Leicester have excellent fixtures, a game in GW33 and a DGW34. If he gets a run of games he really could be an option. Of course Schwarzer is 4.5 and presents a similar option. Leicester and Sunderland also rotate nicely to the end of the season.

But.... as with all Leicester defenders you have the question of how many clean sheets they can actually keep from here. However with their nice run of fixtures, a more defensive setup and the fact that they will be scrapping for their lives you have to think this is the best opportunity for clean sheets they've had all season.

He certainly presents an option for anyone on a tight budget like me but I'll wait and see how it plays out for a week or 2. One to monitor anyway.

Thing is that if you have any faith whatsoever in the Leicester defence from here on in then Schlupp seems a no brainer, similar to the Panti/ PVA situation that occurred some weeks ago, I already had Panti so wasn't bothered with PVA,
Can't see interest in Schmeichel to be honest.

Another poster convinced me few minutes ago to get Schlupp in. It was Jimmie i think.

The guy had 3 goals and some assists so far. Hull at home next.

Leicester have kept only few clean sheets so far - 15% to be "precise".
Hull is at 21% now and we are not excited about getting their goalkeeper in.

    Stoke - 25% btw.
