Staying clear of the match thread tonight, gonna be tragic!

No giroud is insane against this united team, not happy with that choice. Hopefully Alexis has something for us tonight!

I was expecting more of an outburst at Giroud's exclusion.

Bloody Canadians and they're fiddling with the clocks.. Thought it was an 11.45 ko here.. Bold team selection. How will Danny cope?

He can't play every match, and In Arsene I trust...

If Arsenal are giving up possession and hoping to play on the break, Welbeck for Giroud makes some sense. For all of Giroud's strengths, pace isn't one of them.

Can only presume Ramsey isn't match fit, otherwise he'd play. Wenger has said before they need him for balance in midfield.

Bold decisions, but there's logic behind them. Hope they pay off.

Disgraceful team choice. No balance in the middle and we look short for set pieces against this wannabe Stoke outfit. hopefully im wrong but very bad feeling about this.

ah Raf you always have bad feelings about every game :pac:

We all want to see Wenger approach games tactically making obvious changes to show he is trying something that stops us being predictable

Tonight we're getting that, you live and die by the sword

Rojo not having as much as a yellow for the obstruction on Ox and the pull back on Danny is shocking

Only to be expected when you play ManU in Old Trafford lads, hardly a shock now is it?

    Half time thoughts.

We're playing well, well enough to deserve being level, or maybe more…

Trust Rooney and DiMaria to be playing their best stuff of the season against us, yet we look ok.

Scez really needs to be dropped again. That fumble was terrifying.

    Ozil looks deadly.

Feel we have the strongest bench also. All good so far. Only disappointment was to concede so soon after scoring!

Is Giroud on the bench?? I can't help to think that Arsenal would be much more effective going forward with Giroud in for Welbeck.

Yes, OG is on the bench. I understand why AW has picked this formation. Pace on the counter attatck, and you can see it's relatively effective. I guess only when we see OG on, will we know if he was right or not! (EmmetLego fence sitting champion 2015)

I think a penalty for the pull back on Wellbeck would have been harsh. There wasn't much in it and Wellbeck made a bit much of it.

Arsenal had a period in the lead up to the goal when they seemed to be playing without the fear that usually afflicts them against United. Defending for the goal from United was comical, but Ox did well and Monreal finished like a world class forward.

Then Di Maria got the freedom of Manchester to deliver a pin point cross and Rooney was in acres of space.......

It was pretty helter skelter for the rest of the half. I'd be extremely worried about Monreal not getting close enough to Di Maria in the second half. He's delivered a lot of crosses already. Bellerin could easily pick up a second yellow too. Then again if Arsenal use a bit of brains in the final third, you never know.....

As much as Alexis has delivered in terms of goals this year, he can be extremely frustrating to watch. He gives the ball away so much and runs down endless blind alleys.
