No live in meath but up and down to cork every few weeks for college. Stopped in urlingford for the last time i reckon. 1.29 for diesel in the texaco :/. Chipper was muc too :v.

Kavanagh's filling station is usually cheaper than Texaco in Urlingford.. I go there for my diesel as its even cheaper than any of the filling stations in Thurles!
They were once headlined as selling the cheapest fuel (in either Ireland or Munster, cant remember as it was a few years back now!) :P

For a car that's supposed to be an all new shape, the looks didn't change that drastically with the passat. Seen a 151 new shape beside a 142 old shape, same colour, and tbh there was sod all in the difference looking straight on at them. Granted the nose of the new one changes a tad when you take a side profile view. As an aside, honestly, vw are actually still putting hubcaps on the new shape passats. Dear god, will the steelie reign ever end!!!

    I think it look great,

The new mondeo is disappointing though, it has a nice Aston Martin nose, but the rest is pretty much the same as it was in 07.
There was nothing particularly offensive about the outgoing passat, why reinvent the wheel?

Ya it looks good, it's just that there was a lot of hype about a brand new shape. All I've seen so far is a bog spec one, so I'll hold out until I see a better equipped one. The mondeo is sort of the same, however looking in at the end, it's very slopey/coupe-ish.

The mazda 6 is the best example of a car which actually changed it's look drastically.

The old mondeo actually had a nice shape in the hatch form - and so does the new one.

I love that long sloping shape at the tailgate end

The back of the mondeo is similar alright. But whoever designed the rear wiper should be shot it's the worst rear wiper I've ever seen on a car anyone else notice it the metal arm goes all the way into the top of the boot and there is a gap looks terrible.

My dad is trying to convince my mum to buy a new Highline passat 2.0tdi at the moment but it's not going well Id say the octavia will be kept another while.

Does anyone know was the low window washer fluid warning sensor only fitted to certain mk5 golfs as I ran out of washer fluid today (no warning light) and I though they had a light. Not a big deal if it doesn't im just wondering.

Really want an old car that one could do up. Dad had a 1981 opel kadett since new, 3 door, orange! Nothing was really wrong with it until he stooped using it and moved onto something newer in 1998. Parked in the corner of a field ever since. That's until 2007 or thereabouts when a lad came around taking scrap cars, and down comes the grab and up onto the lorry. Still have the reg plate in the shed. If that car was still there, I'd be onto it no bother and get it going. Wasn't really into cars when it was taken away. Missed opportunity. Don't know why I'm rambling about it, but have been thinking about it this past while.

I'm not sure at the moment, maybe in the Summer when I've time off. The thing with the kadett was that it was in the family for just shy of 30 years, so it would have a kind of sentimental value to restore it. I'll consider it more between now and the summer.

Did an oil change on the Volvo today. I'm 99% sure petrol is leaking into the oil. HALP!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,042 ✭✭✭Bpmull

Was checking my car tyres today and one of the back which wasn't far of the limit anyway was starting to crack which I hadn't noticed till now so I'm in getting tyres now. I was hoping to get another month or two out of them but tyres is the wrong place to try and save money.

Yes but you also get free meals and accommodation which would save you a small fortune.

24k sterling inc meals & acc with 15% employer pension contribution, that's a very decent package for a driving role, fair enough its 48 hours and includes weekend work and wouldnt suit a family person.

Ex army lad, officer etc be ideal for it imo
