Cue the faux outrage as people pretend to be offended by this. Massive appetite for outrage on the internet in general and fb in particular.

One girl felt aggrieved by the reference to Achill Island, as if implying it was quite far from Dublin was some kind of insult. A couple more castigate the hotel for being "uneducated" and treating the public like idiots their points being undermined by their own use of textese and ballistic approach to English.

Naturally, the keyboard warriors fell over themselves to get offended on behalf of homeless people never mind that most of them would throw themselves under a bus to avoid contact with one.

You sound quite affected by it all yourself. Outraged, almost

Ryanair ....... and ........... a ****ty hostel in Inner City Dublin .......... fair comparison

Don't be giving that hotel owner ideas, he'll be charging for the sheets next, then the towels, then the bog roll, per sheet... :D

I agree with the sentiment but whoever writes their posts comes across as very aggressive.

Seemed to be more amused than even remotely outraged.

Anyone else think that Ed Sheeran looks like a cloned and rebooted version of Jimmy Savile for this generation?

I was thinking the bastard love child of Donald Trump.

Jeez, I'm no great fan of Ed Sheeran but that's a fairly sinister comparison to make.

    Unfair on the young man.

I'm not saying he touches kids! .......................maybe dead people ?

Is it really supply and demand pre raising prices before any actual demand, That's actually called profiteering.
It's not really profiteering at this stage. Every hotel does it as a matter of policy. Their rooms are in high demand so they price accordingly. What about the other end of the year when hotels can't find people for their rooms and sell at reduced prices? I suppose you're ok with that arrangement or would you rather pay full price in the off season?

I love the guy who runs that page, the rooms will still get booked and the angry Facebook mob will give him all the publicity he wants, same thing happened last year when he announced the garth gigs were back on.

The free-market rules of supply and demand are fine. If hotels want to work by the "Survive in a competitive world or die" rules, that's fair enough.

However, my pension fund is being levied to lower the VAT on their services to 9%. And I can tell you that in places I stay, hotel prices didn't fall when that was introduced.

They want to raise prices as high as possible, but then be supported by levies applied to their customers? They can f*** right off.

I wouldn't say Croke Park is under 15 minutes walk from there. Not a long walk but definitely not that quick. From a quick look at their facebook, this sort of stuff seems to just be their "thing"

I just saw ed sheeran dead on the main road near my house. I think it was him but then again it could have been a fox

This is basically how Facebook marketing works.

Perhaps people should go to their facebook page. This is not the first controversial post they have made, although some of the other were actually funny.

I live fairly close to that "hotel" and would pass it quite often, there's always people coming and going, I'm not saying it's full, but they're obviously getting customers from somewhere.

    I'll say one thing..
Having read through a few of their other posts, they make their own hotel/hostel sound like a right sh1tbox. Posts about copulating couples and hookers.
    Classy joint alright.
At least you dont need tripadvisor for this one, they tell you themselves not to stay here if you want a decent hotel experience.

Well Ireland is officially doomed, we've lost our once proud ability to have a bitta crac. Honestly some people must actively search out things to be outraged at.

It's a joke. And a pretty funny one at that.

I really don't understand the attraction of Ed Sheeran. He's an average, slightly alternative, pop singer, who you would think was the second coming of Dylan or Neil Young judging by the fanfare surrounding him. He's not even good looking... From what I read he seems like a nice guy and he seems to visit sick kids a lot so fair play to him. Maybe all his fans are patients.

They would be ladies of the night and their customers ........ the "hotel" has a fairly bad reputation in general ........ which I'm sure you're aware of considering you live close by?

Nope, calling people who politely post on your Facebook page "twats" is definitely the action of an arsehole.

They will get absolutely slated on Tripadvisor for this, in 6 months time when nobody remembers this and someone goes looking for a hotel and they see such a terrible rating, will it be worth it?

I liked his first album but the over saturation about him at this stage is becoming too much.

An Ed Sheeran hipster, I've heard it all now.

These arseholes again  Latest post says he's on 2fm tonight to defend the post so I suppose he got what he wanted. Had a look at a few other posts as well...using facebook to tell the couple in room 56 to stop having sex so loudly :o

There is nothing 'alternative' about him whatsoever.

If only there was some kind of precedent for hotels raising prices around major concerts/sporting events.

I was close to saying 'indie' but I couldn't do it.
