Have you not been watching any Champions League games over the last two weeks? The problem is the PL has turned into a total and utter hack-fest. It is far more physical than any other European league. Even Dortmund, who rest in 12th in Bundesliga showed a skill level last night that just simply isn't seen in the PL apart from Chelsea and when Yaya Toure is playing, City.

All 3 English teams have been absolutely played off the pitch, two of them at home.

yea, all premier league teams have been shown up technically and tactically, anyone who disagrees with this probably didnt see the games

Monaco would have beaten us similarly, probably more considering we look worse at defending counter attacks than Arsenal

Yes I just checked my numbers and it makes the spainsh league Doubley better. Also Man U are 6 goals better than Athletico and we arent even in europe its madness how it works out

Unless they go into one of their black holes collapses, I can't see them being that poor against United. I live in hope though.

Monaco gave an exhibition of playing on the counter. Wish we did likewise, we have the players.

Pelligrini and Wegner have shown they are tatically naive in europe but they were the same last season so the results this week dont reflect in anyway on the strenght on the premier league.

Also if mert and giroud didnt have bad games tonight we arent even discussing this.

Perhaps , but I'd be disappointed of we didnt beat them after seeing that. They were miles off the standard tonite, couldn't even pass the ball.

However perhaps what I'm saying is exactley what everybody else says about playing united. Can't score, can't pass, can't defend .

Monaco were down players and rarely score 3 goals, are 4th in France and coming off a bit of a bad run.

I'd say Swansea wouldn't have done much worse!

I'm confident well beat them now, were poor but not THAT poor!!

i honestly think wenger doesnt have a clue of tactics, even in big premier league games he is always shown up

Used not to be the case though. I don't know what's happened to him. He's starting to look like the game is passing him by.

    I'd take wenger at United.

in the last 6 years how many times have they beaten man utd? not many id say, never beaten a mourinho team, destroyed last year at city, liverpool and chelsea, majority of big games he is tactically cluseless

I don't disagree. I'm just wondering where it all went wrong for him.

Lack of ambition from the Arsenal board and his failure to adapt tactically to the top teams.

well when you think about it, when he joined arsenal he already had a top class defense and keeper, bergkamp was already signed for them as well, he had a wonderful team and then added the likes of vieira, pires overmars henry and a few other players, after the defense started to break up after campbell, cole, lauren toure etc he never replayed them with quality and continued to only buy technically gifted forward players....big mistake imo

Sure couldn't be any worse than the way things are now and it would be nice to play some good football again and be exciting!

im not happy the way we are playing but seriously, Arsene Wenger!!! he is past it, should really retire at the end of the season and maybe he will

Silly interview man: "Why do you think Arsenal looked so ordinary and you looked so good tonight?"

    Berbatov: "Because... we... are good."

    Love that guy.

The gift that keeps on giving!

It seems like a stubbornness, he will either succeed his way, playing a brand of football he holds as his ideal, or not at all, he only has the one way of playing, doesn't really do plan B at all. They have a soft underbelly too which never helps them, you do have to remember also tonight they had Cazorla and Coq in midfield.

Someone could twist that against fergie as well with the likes of beckham and Giggs etc

It's easy to point out mistakes over 20 years

I get your point, but you couldn't level that accusation at Fergie, he rebuilt the club from the ground up when he came in, sold on the majority of the squad he inherited and built his own team and style before having success there.

Edit: Unless I misunderstand and you mean he never really sorted the midfield after they left? Though I would still have issues with that :)

Oh I'm fully aware kry, I'm just saying wenger isn't as clueless as he makes out and cheapening him by saying it was luck was foolish.

All ifs and butts. Would have been a great replacement to fergie if he retired in 03 and there wasn't that bitter rivalry at the time.

He was an innovator when he came in, a superb manager but he seems to be set in his ways now and unwilling to compromise some of his ideals to win trophies.

There was no luck involved with the success he had, he built great teams.

I agree with you, it would cheapen him to make out he just got lucky.
