If we spent the rest of the season bombing it up to Fellaini but got top 4, I wouldn't complain.

But its not the united way and people will post predominantly untrue gifs and messages slagging us. It will be unbearable.

Is this the end for Wenger? Pretty much out of the CL now. If they don't get top 4 at the end of the season, he's gone.

It probably is time he went. Arsenal have stagnated badly in the last couple of years.

Let's hope Arsenal press the self destruct button in February again. We need it

Think it's safe to say that we will never win the league with LVG as manager. His ridged, negative long ball game just inn't suited to a club like manchester United. We are used to a much more attractive style of play which has proved successful over the years.

My only hope now is that LVG clears out a few more of the deadwood and leaves a healthy squad for a manager with an attacking philosophy to come in and rescue the club.

You think its safe to say?

Your lack of knowledge gives me confidence actually :)

every single english team played off the park in the champions league, just goes to show how poor the league is this season and really shows how poor we have been

Hopefully Arsenal get back in this, we've to play them twice and would rather if they still had CL to worry about

Great seeing Monaco playing on the counter. It's definitely the most attractive style of football in my eyes when it's done correctly.
We used to be unstoppable playing that way.

I can't remember the last time 7 teams were fighting for a top 4 finish, one of which is Southampton who got promoted 3 years ago. If anything its better, really hate when people keep banging the PL is poor drum.

Was it not that long ago 3 premiership teams were in the last 4 of CL, usually indicative of a strong league whereas probably only one will make it this year.. Chelsea. ?

Chelsea strolled their group with the most goals scored in the entire stage, then took an away goal and a draw from their last match, in which the intention was clearly to do exactly that (although I'm sure a 0-1 win would have been preferred).

City gave a very good account of themselves in the second half last night, playing against an exceptionally good team in a competition they have little history in after a hugely uncharacteristically nervy first half which you're suggesting is representative of their quality.

Only Arsenal could be said to have been played off the park, tonight, and they are having an absolute nightmare and, again, clearly playing far below their normal standard if you've eyes to see with.

None of that fits with what you said. It seems like you decided on an opinion and then just ignored what's actually been happening in the real world.

a lot changes in football in a year.

    We finished 7th last season.

quality this year in the league has been very poor, anyone who this otherwise is kidding themselves

Chelsea and Southampton are probably the only 2 teams in top 7 happy with their performance this season... The other 5 have been patchy enough. .. The only reason there is competition for CL spots is more to do with teams having a patchy season.....rather than outstanding teams playing great football.

PSG played chelsea off the park, Mourinho even said after the game they were lucky to still be in the tie.

Barcelona gave man city a lesson last night, only for joe hart and the crossbar it could have been 5 or 6 nil

and arsenal well, they are being embarrassed tonight

Well if we are going to use a couple of games as the benchmark of weather a whole league has disimproved massively in one season.

Chelsea lost 3-1 in paris last season and drew 1-1 this season so they are a whole 2 goals a game better in europe than last season so

And Man City are 1 goal less

Always better to have the memory of one rather than the IQ of one I always say. United were not and Spurs finished 10 points behind 4th, while Everton were 7th. So I'd say 5, rather than 7.

nope, United were 10 points off 4th, Spurs 8 points, both pretty much ruled out, imo

Last year La Liga was the best league in the world, the Premier League was 2nd and the Bundesliga was 3rd.

I deduced this using the following impeccable logic:

La Liga had two teams in the final.
The PL and the Bundesliga had one apiece in the semis, but the German team lost by more goals.

I'm looking forward to the final this year so we can find out by how much things have changed.

bloody hell lads. We need to get back into the CL

    God, I hate Arsenal.

Even at our worst, we offered Bayern a semi-decent challenge. That useless shower get into the competition every year and do fúck all.

Have you not been watching any Champions League games over the last two weeks? The problem is the PL has turned into a total and utter hack-fest. It is far more physical than any other European league. Even Dortmund, who rest in 12th in Bundesliga showed a skill level last night that just simply isn't seen in the PL apart from Chelsea and when Yaya Toure is playing, City.

All 3 English teams have been absolutely played off the pitch, two of them at home.

Imagine the frustration though. I enjoyed that because I didn't care about the outcome. If it was United in Arsenal's place my whole week would be ruined.
