Just a reminder that Berbatov is back in England tonight for the Arsenal v Monaco UCL clash.

We can get to admire those casually silky skills that graced our own team once again from the coolest player ever to play football.

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has not spoken to manager Louis van Gaal for months, according to reports in Spain

    ...

    Independent

Could be just Spanish media stirring things for Real, but coupled with Koeman's remarks:
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman believes Manchester United counterpart Louis van Gaal has a style of management that 'puts fear' into his players.

    ...

    SkySports

it might have some credence. Plus we can see that Van Gaal is very defensive, e.g. his long-ball print-outs in reaction to Sam Allardyce's comments after the West Ham game.

What a load if ****e to sell papers. Course they have ****ing talked in months.

They don't have to sit down and eat lunch together. How often do you talk to your manager?

His reaction to the long ball stuff was not him being defensive, he was simply educating the feeble minded (would be how he looked at it)

I think people possibly have not seen much of Van Gaal and his media interaction over the years, he has been quite typical this year. Nothing out of the ordinary, when teams start go through rough patches these stories appear usually, its normal. If Van Gaal and De Gea were not getting on De Gea would not be playing, its that simple really.

Koemans remarks have no more weight today then they did yesterday. Two men who have a deep dislike of each other (so much to the extent that when one bought a holiday home, the other bought one, a much bigger one, 100 yards down the road so he could lord it over him) should rarely be trusted to be truthful when it comes to the other.

Especially when Victor Valdes is waiting on the sidelines to come in.

On the other hand if Van Gaal dropped De Gea he'd be signing his own death warrant

It might just be me but I think there has been a few strange quotes from Van Gaal about De Gea, as if he's a bit irked with the praise he's getting

"educating the feeble minded (would be how he looked at it)" does lend credibility to what both these reports say. It's clear that the team is not playing well enough considering the talent available, and from what we've seen so far, they are at best stagnating; for sure all is not rosy at OT and Van Gaal's ideas or philosophy is still not being manifested on the pitch.

Liverpool's form since the new year, Arsenal's consistency of making top 4 under Wenger, Southampton's recovery from the losing streak and United's consistently poor displays, put's them at best ahead of Southampton but behind Arsenal and Liverpool in likelihood of getting the last two CL places after Chelsea and City.

De Gea is clearly playing well and is lauded as one of the best in the world right now. Clashes of personalities occur often, in all walks of life but people can still go ahead and put personal issues behind them and carry on with their duties. They will however be looking for some kind of resolution or way out rather than let the situation continue.

There is something seriously wrong when that squad of players who have no CL football this year, have had a piss easy cup run and one game in the League Cup can play the fearful shapeless drivel they are playing. The buck stops with the manager.

Think it's safe to say that we will never win the league with LVG as manager. His ridged, negative long ball game just inn't suited to a club like manchester United. We are used to a much more attractive style of play which has proved successful over the years.

My only hope now is that LVG clears out a few more of the deadwood and leaves a healthy squad for a manager with an attacking philosophy to come in and rescue the club.

The players are devoid of belief and a top 4 finish will be a real struggle. A club of this size cannot afford to not be in the CL. Failure to deliver CL football or at least win the Cup should I would hope see him sacked. A lot of people tend to forget the size of this club - it would not be tolerated at any similar sized club on the continent.

WE ARE NOT A LONG BALL TEAM

Watching the arsenal game they are no great shakes against half decent opposition. If we can get our **** together we should be ok for top 4.

If we spent the rest of the season bombing it up to Fellaini but got top 4, I wouldn't complain.

Berbatov potentially just finished Arsenal off. Took his time about it, cool as a cucumber as usual.
