Is say 99% of the population isn't the brightest.

By definition all but one of the population aren't the brightest.

Persisting with Rooney in midfield IMO has been one of the most frustrating things about the 2nd half of this season. Now that RVP is out injured LVG has no excuse for shoehorning Rooney into midfield and we should see more of Herrera, hopefully.

What do you mean when you say "brightest" ?

Some players play best on instinct, some players have a football brain. It's not tied to academic performace if that is what you are getting at.

no not at all, but someone posted that maybe van gaal is giving the players information overload and some of the players cant grasp this.

rooney is a street footballer 100%, never stops going, would put his head where players wouldn't put their feet and when he is let off the leash can be devastating, van gaal is playing him now in midfield, probably giving him tonnes of instructions in training and that is why we are seeing a poor rooney now in midfield as he is thinking too much

To be honest Gary Neville put it best, if the club wanted to maintain a high tempo 4-4-2, they wouldn't have hired Van Gaal.

I would have imagined there is a plan of development for the squad. And high on that is getting the play style nailed down in the first season, so that subsequent seasons it's not an issue and is second nature to the squad.

This is a coach with big experience, and a pretty good track record in the Champions league. I can see the logic in what he is doing. Suffer the growing pains now, get back into the top 4, and next season have the players settled with the systems and his demands, that will be suitable for both domestic AND European style football.

I think he also has to stick with his plan, as it will show those who are not suited to his style and demands, and they are the targets for removal

Doing a bit of a Schteve McClaren there Doc :D:D:D

suarez, tevez, rooney, players I would class as street footballers. If you have never played street football you probably wouldn't know what im talking about

When Fergie left it was without a doubt the most coveted job in Football, now if LVG gets shown the door for failing to get 4th I think alot of managers would think twice about coming to United

    Rubbish.

Ignoring for now the fact that LVG has not been sacked and is in no danger of being sacked, if the United job came free again the worlds top managers would still be queuing out the door for the job.

A squad with some world class players, hundreds of millions of pounds to spend and the club history to attract a lot of good players? Good managers won't give a toss what happened LVG, they would rightly think that he fucked up and that they would do a lot better.

Any Manager good enough to manage UTD to the expectations ye lot have will have the EGO to take on the job no matter how bad the previous guy had it or how bad the squad may or may not be.
At the end of the day you still have History and piles of cash coming in each season and the big guys will relish that challenge

Quite apart from anything else, I think he is utterly failing to do this. Ten months since his appointment and that squad does not have a clue what they are supposed to be doing. By your logic his targets for removal will be every single member of the squad.

I think it is pretty clear what he wants them to do, what they should be doing, but they are not doing it. The execution is poor but the plan is very clear.

So, all players are street footballer then. Great, here I was thinking Carrick and De Gea learned to play under water.
