    V8 4 door saloons are commonplace...:D

I love the idea of a E60 with a high revving NA engine like the M5. I'd bloody love one! The E60 has also aged far better than the E39....

I agree that the LCI'd ones have aged well but I think the Pre-LCI are terrible.

Something annoying and extremely weird just happened.

About an hour ago front left window was sliding up and down fine. A little while later, would not open at all. After stopping, opening the door and trying again, the glass just dropped straight down.

Ugh. Covered it with some plastic for the night and will have a look in the morning.

Must have slid off the track. Regulator probably broken too of it wasn't going down. Must have been weird seeing it drop!

It's a good thing all it takes for a facelift in an M5 are the LCI Light Control Module, LCI Headlights and LCI Taillights.

If a car is maintained well, has its work done etc. etc. it will be above the market price.

There is no such thing as buying a very nice car cheap, unless you're going bangernomics and a €60 part won't scare you off.
They always have work that needs to be done.

Plenty of experience on that part actually.

With an attitude like that you must have overpaid for all your cars which turned out to be lemons! I have patience when buying mine and as I said do my research so I know what I am looking for. So while bad ones will come now and again most times it works

    Here are just some of the ways I got good deals in the last 15 years;
    - people's circumstances change and they need to sell quick, Loads of deals from people emigrating / unexpected children etc
    - Selling a car with a small target market, managed to buy a Megane 225 advertised (poorly) only on carsIreland for a song, come selling time I did a proper ad and advertised it I'm the right places,
    - a well maintained car (eg recently 'big' serviced / 4 expensive tyres / brakes etc) where owner unexpectedly put up for sale (ie owner spent a lot of money not expecting to sell), here I bought a 4year old 330d with all these expensive bills paid and ran it € free other than oil change and diesel for 4 years
    - a poor negotiator was selling a car
    - a car poped up in the trade
    - Bought a car from a dealer who just wanted rid
    - a guy wanted my old car (5door gti) but coudnt sell his boxter s so did a swap and cash and I enjoyed it for 18 Mths and sold at a profit
    - luck - I managed to spot a Seat Cupra r on done deal on a tue morning, I knew the car from around and that it was way under market value so did the deal within 5 hours of the ad going up before the owner realised he could have gotten more
    - saw a higher than average miles e36 convertible, bought it as a 2nd car. Took it all around Europe and the odd track-day so very little miles. Sold it 2 years later for the same price as the miles were closer to average. Also helped that I bought it in sept when convertibles are at their cheapest

I think you should hop onto Amazon, there are some good books on negotiating (good life skill) and buying cars. Also advise visiting car specific forums to educate yourself on what to look for to minimise chance of lemons. I also use the old wise words of 'the day you buy is the day you sell'

I have bought one lemon of a car. Actually hard to call it a lemon - nothing ever broke on it. Only wearable items were replaced over a year. I've never had it on the hard shoulder apart from the one time where I ran out of fuel.

I know plenty of people and know how much time and money they've spent on their cars.

    In terms of patience:
The "lemon" was bought after a 5 month search for a decent enough car, condition and pricewise. I'm happy with what I paid for it, but was it a good deal? No. It would be if it came with more spec etc.

The barge (E38 750i) that I currently have, was bought in December, after a 3 month search. I was actually supposed to buy a 540i, but the previous owner crashed it. It obviously is going to have its little issues, as it's a 17 year old car, but I'm happy enough with it.

You have bought cars that are aimed at a very specific market and are hard to sell. It's no wonder, you might've gotten a good deal a couple of times. Try that with a 520d or an Avensis diesel and you'll see what I'm talking about.

So for the past few days I've been using the missus' JTD Punto... Have to say it's a foopin rocket of a yoke.
130 horses but weighs shag all, I'm going on 28 and with a kid on the way but at the lights I still have the urge to floor the living ****e out of it :D
Much quicker off of the line than the Accord, going to Berlin next with it so I'll stick some pics up of it :) Don't think anyone has seen it yet.

Ordered ebc greenstuff pads. Will be waiting until I'm paid to order some Bosch discs. Looking forward to that brake performance!

That oil cap flying thing happened again. I was positive i tightened it properly yesterday. Anything else that could cause it to pop? Damaged treads?

The Spar in Little Island, we try to meet every weekend. This was the heart of an M6, some serious roar off it.

Don't think there'll be one next week as there'll be C&C in Limerick but there should be the week after.

Ah yea, no panic. I'm not often in Cork on weekends. Just happened to here be today. Anything exotic expected at C&C or is it a kind of show up and see what's there?

Usually a lot of exotics at C&C, not as much as the Dublin one but still a fair whack. Was supposed to be going myself but I have to work :(

That's photo shopped or something. If it was real, it would be sitting way further down over the rear arches.

Looks real to me. If they went to the bother of shopping in reflections and protection for the wires then they'd have lowered it too.

    Probably lightweight material
