Right. I may have screwed up. Sitting here in the IKEA car park in the missus e90 which refuses to start. While waiting for her I had the ignition on but no radio or lights running. I was charging my phone for about 20 minutes. Surely that wasn't enough to kill the battery?

She's mightily annoyed as you can imagine.

No the battery must be one the way out you'd want to be charging your phone alot longer than 20mins to run down a healthy battery.

Woot. Push start and into second got her going. Will get the battery checked though.

I absolutely despise those yokes, look horrendous on any VAG.

    You're a yoke :P

On a decent set of alloys and not slammed to the ground that could be quite nice.

I wouldn't like them alloys at all tbh we'll definitely not on a vw anyway. Not into the whole heavily modified car thing at all but I do like when people add the odd thing that makes the car look well. Like the scirocco alloys it was a bogo mk5 silver golf but yet the alloys made it stand out and look well.

I paid 1.249 for diesel in topaz yesterday but anywhere I seen today seems to be higher luckily I brimed the tank until you could literally put no more in although I done 400km today so it won't last long.

Interlagos is the wheel name, 18s found on the Passat CC and Scirocco. Lovely wheel...on a CC or a Scirocco. On anything else they are replica shyte 99.99% of the time.

If it's a 2007/2008 car you will be better off replacing the battery altogether. I went for a while with a battery that was crap i.e. poor starting, clock resetting etc. I tried a few times to charge it up but it didn't last too long.

Why are they that expensive ? The ones on this could well have been replicas I wouldn't know them well enough to tell.

Expensive? You'd buy them cheap as reps. Quality Chinese engineering too. Personally I think they look bad on any Golf.

You'll only know for sure when you take them off and check for stamps. The Chinese don't stamp them because it would ruin any strength that they have:pac: Search done deal for buckle and you'll probably find a set!

What I meant was are the genuine ones very expensive if everyone is buying reps although I suppose most genuine alloys are quite expensive. Id never bother with cheap chinese reps myself.

And good condition OEM wheel is. Unless you're prepared to watch eBay like a hawk you're going to pay through the nose for real ones.

A lad I know has them on his passat. Think it's 06/07, on NI plates so can't tell. It's a silver estate, and I think they look so well.

She's a 2005. We use Valdas in Motor Confidence so I'll see what he says. There had been nothing wrong with it prior to tonight and I had been thinking of dropping it in for a service regardless.

The 15s that are on mine are very plain kind of one step above wheel covers but they are find and its nice to have cheap tyres. Tbh other than replacing mechanical (service/ wear) parts I don't really intend on spending anything on this golf as I don't intend keeping it long enough.

Well searching for "strawberry diesel" will turn up a load of results that probably violate any "substance" related policies a workplace might have. Oops.

When are you planning on moving on? To another golf?

Currently it's to keep the current one till next June 2016 as at that stage I'll be finished college and have a job. I recon the next car will be a mk6 golf tbh Id sell mine this summer and get a mk6 if they weren't making such rediculous money like get decent money for my one Id have to put 6-9k euro with my one to get any kind of a decent 2010 ish mk6.

Mk6s are actually making more money than they were making early last year for the same cars ie a year older. I was close to buying a mint mk6 highline 10 reg last year one owner I knew the owner I'm sorry I didn't now as I can't get a similar car for the same money now. Either way I didn't want to spend that kind of money on a car back then. I'm happy enough with my mk5 for now anyway.

I reckon the rise at the amount is down to the weak euro more than oil prices.
The feckin Greeks! As much as you might say fair play to them for standing up for themselves, they have a lotta people nervous about the euro. Even apart from quantitive easing.
    :(
