It's probably easier when you buy it!

Ah that's just moaning about the game length, I'd be fine with a short game if it was good. Too many games these days are 8 hour games stretched thin over an open world and 40-80 hours gameplay.

Game length is one thing but this looks pretty shameless:

The gold mario Amiibo will be a Walmart exclusive in the States, no news about Europe:

Don't get sucked into Amiibo Madness Retr0, don't do it!

I'm just putting it up there to laugh at the endeavours of the amiibo maniacs.

I fear I'm a bit late to the amiibo party, have to save money and the rarer ones probably past me by. Really annyoing that the rare ones are the ones I'd actually like!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,183 ✭✭✭✭Atavan-Halen

I was going to try get them all and found myself wanting the "rare" ones but then I had to stop myself and realise the madness of it all. Now, I'm just going to get the ones I want like ness, the pokemon ones, Mr game & watch, rob and maybe toad.

It's crazy though, people seem to be going mad for nintendo stuff lately, especially limited edition items.

Still €120 for two tickets, and those are the "back-of-house," behind a pillar lot. Still too highly priced I reckon.

Good of you to throw the code up though.

I genuinely don't know what the organisers of that music festival were thinking, the whole thing seems bafflingly misjudged. 60 euro for the worst seats in the house is total madness - it's not exactly Ennio Morricone we're talking about here (and even Morricone's upcoming gig is stupidly priced, but at least with slightly more justification given the man's prestige).

Just to put your mind at ease, I fixed the 2nd pair of headphones :-D

A few tips if you're doing headphones:

Connect the wires to their points first and test them out to make sure it works and always (always) check that you have the casing on before you solder... Ha

Nothing to it really. If I can do it after watching a couple of videos, anyone can!

Now I'll walk around with the stupidest grin on my face whenever I use these headphones, ha.

Ah fair play man, you did it! But it was frustrating for a little bit? How long did it take? Are you gonna keep going with the few headphones since they are small and fiddly or move onto something else?

I done two before, one worked, the other didn't :) It's prob the most difficult soldering job I can think of in terms of console modding, given the tiny solder points that are also covered with a resin that solder won't stick to. Pig of a job really, just stick to softmodding the PS2.

It's good to know though. Maybe when I'm able in a year or so I'll give it a go.

The first attempt was pretty frustrating, but the second one went much smoother. One side didn't work at first, but I used a tweezers to connect each side to the ground terminal to see which was effected by it. It had no effect on the red wire, so I added a little more solder to it and it worked. It took about 15 minutes in all (because I forgot to put the outer casing on the wire first....). I'll more than likely fix the first set again, then try replacing a capacitor in one of the TVs to see how it goes.

The guy that used to do my PS2's used a specialised microsolder rig, seemed like a pretty tough job that took about 2 hours.

Yeah it's a tough one alright, not something I'd even attempt at this stage without specialised gear like that.

Ehhh, I'd be better off to wait until the Amiibo cards release. I've no interest in collecting chunks of plastic.

    Hmm...
I'm not sure if I should be delighted or disappointed.
On the one hand I like this new, respectable legit Sparks
    LIFESTYLE-LAWYER-MODEL-WITH-DRINK.jpg

On the other hand there was a certain roguish charm to the pirate Sparks,

The two caps that died in one of the TVs were 2200uf 10v. Should I replace them with the same or does the fact that they blew mean they were under-rated for the TV and something like 16v would be better?

No same uf but as long as they are same or higher voltage it'll be grand.

    Bloodborne. Soon. Patience.

Do we need another Dark Souls though? Or is Bloodborne wildly different?

I'll only fork out for a PS4 when The Last Guardian comes out. When. :)

I'm waiting till Witcher 3 makes an appearance.

I'll stick to getting the PC version down the line when I upgrade to a DX11 graphics card. Coincidently enough I re-installed The Witcher 2 at the weekend, I had only played an hour or two of it previously, but I never remembered doing a tutorial at the start before.
