Tell Us More isn't entered at Naas.

When would you be able to get entries for the races at Naas this weekend? Would it be much closer to the day?

Waiting for Tell Us More to run again, there's a Grade 2 Novice hurdle over 2 miles on the card.

Was decided he's going straight to festival once Deloitte was skipped. He was extremely weak at over 20/1 on exchanges for both races but he's into 37/5 for Neptune this evening. Disappointed in his last run but hoping he turns up having backed him for Neptune early doors

I fancy Shutthefrontdoor for Gold Cup and Jezki for Champion Hurdle (e/w flutter for me)

You'll get a big price seeing as he's not running.

I thought he might go Supreme after Willie was talking about stepping him down in trip, but was thinking that would be the Deloitte. Have been looking out for novice hurdles he might run in since because I hadn't read anything about their plans for him since his defeat.

Another reason was the Gigginstown team have as far as I can make out 4/5 novice hurdlers who've won maidens that might have had some Cheltenham prospects. Wouldn't fancy Identity Thief at all after the last day, so if they had Tell Us More, Outlander and No More Heroes as their main Cheltenham novice hurdle hopes then unless they plan on running two in the Neptune I would have thought his inclusion in the race would make sense given it would be quite a step down in trip for Outlander and No More Heroes isn't entered in the Supreme (I think).

Exchange is hinting something else it would seem.

Cheers Rossom. And you get the full combined price yea?

Yeah works the same as a normal double.
That doesn't sound right, I rely they'll argue they're related? (Which they are)

I didn't think it was right but I remember a few years ago (in shop) I asked for a price on Great Endeavour (RIP) to win the PP Gold Cup and the Hennessy and was told in store that just to put the two in a double with the current prices.

Got on to online support a few months ago (can't remember what the horses were) to see if you could stick the same horse in two races in the double and they confirmed you were able to.

Do you think paint the clouds will be that much shorter come nrnb in two weeks time? The reason I ask is I recall a similar bullishness on mosey joe last yr but he never made it and the ap bets went south, so if the big prices are already gone, maybe people should wait for the safety of nrnb? Just a thought.

Yeah Mossey went south for me as well last year. Big difference though is that Mossey wasn't in any form of training until January because of a dispute between the previous owners and it was a rush job to get him back fit.

Paint The Clouds has had this as his aim all season and Greatrex has occasionally updated his website over the months giving an update on PTC.

His update from Yesterday morning was "I intend to run Paint The Clouds at Doncaster which is exciting. He has been coming along nicely and the run should put him spot on for The Foxhunters at Cheltenham in just over 3 weeks." so you know that you'll get a run for your money barring an injury.

8/1 (or 14/1 double between tomorrow and Chelt) is the biggest he's ever been and I'd say he'll be about half that price with a convincing victory tomorrow.

Ok, did not know the price history so if one was having a crack at him, 14/1 double looks the choice, in for a penny in for a pound. I'm not going in btw, not because I don't believe in him, just haven't had enough time to research. Hope he wins tomorrow for those going in.

If I do the paint the clouds double and my bookie decides it's a related bet, what is the normal response ? Void bet ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 338 ✭✭faoile@n

That 14/1 is a related bet. While bookies will allow you place the bet (and someone on support won't know any difference) it should be settled depending on what price he's cut to after winning today.

It might be worth a shot that betfair sportsbook don't cop on and there's also a chance he won't be cut as much as his price today.

Don't fancy it myself just said someone might fancy it. Boyles started today also 21/1 Faugheen, Vautour and Peace and Co.

They are worth keeping an eye on encase something decent pops up.

Cheers man, wasnt knocking you for posting it, some of these are terrible from a price point of view and some from the horses

Skybet website does not allow the double.

    Douvan
    UDS
    Don Cossack

    20/1 with Boyles

Douvan seems to be popping up in a good few specials they want to take him on.

You guys any idea which race Cause of Causes will run in?

That's fair enough considering the Supreme has been a graveyard for favourites over the years.

I am always wary of horses that power away from others in soft conditions come cheltenham time esp with a high knee action.

Betfair doing Lami Serge, Faugheen and UDS 20/1, looks a right bet

Was going to post that last night when you put the other special up. None of these 'specials' have been value so far IMO. They've all included horses like Douvan who, regardless of the visual impression created so far, is woefully underpriced on form when you consider:

He's been beating stayers on bad ground
Was well beaten in France before arriving in Ireland as far as I'm aware
There's multiple dangers in L'Ami Serge, Jollyann and Shaneshill
Favourites having a poor record in Supreme
Vautour having won the Deloitte last year and proven much more went off at 7/2

7/4-2/1 is a horrible price IMO

No i agree with what your saying i rarely bother with these enhancements. The only one i have touched so far was Lami Serge and Vautour at 22/1 which was a 4 point increase and value.

That would surprise me - thought he was nailed on for Neptune.
Nichols Canyon should be in the Supreme instead.

Anyone who backed the double of Paint The Clouds to win today and at Cheltenham at 14/1.

I've had a trader from Betfair contact me saying that what I was told by their support was incorrect and the bet shouldn't be allowed.

They have introduced a special of him to win today and at Cheltenham of 10/1 which can be placed at the link below.

    https://www.betfair.com/sport/horse-racing/antepost?marketId=924.21881916

I think everyone who did the 14/1 bet will have it voided.

Mullins has 'indicated' today that NC will be in the Neptune!

He looked decent today except for the third last where he walked through it. I can't see him being clipped in too much on the back of that but he will still be a decent price and maybe slightly underrated for anyone who fancies him

Happy but not ecstatic with Paint The Clouds. I'm sure they left plenty of him to work with to get him spot on for Cheltenham but not totally flawless.

Yeah screws me as I had Nic for the supreme and Shaneshill for the Neptune!

I agree, think NC would be perfect for Supreme but as always Ruby wants who he considers the best horses divided so he can get up and Mullins is massively led by Ruby. Wylie also compared him to InglisDrever after Leopardstown so would be shocked if he wasn't Neptune bound
