Rooney and herrera have justified their selection tonight hopefully. Also if lvg is going to persist with firing ball forward then fellaini is the man to aim at

For my second trick, ladies and gentlemen Chris Smalling is a brainless tool of a player.......... who am I kidding, not even I can make him look good!

You won us the match. That half time talk you gave them worked.
Fellaini was on boards hoping Bangkok wasn't being mean to him.

Add Rafael, Jones and Mata to the side that's ending this game for Valencia, smalling and Fellaini and we'd be a lot better. Rooney up top has to be a fixture now surely

    Falcao was woeful.
Fellaini did better as the game went on. He came into his own after the substitution

For all I've desperately wanted Falcao to work out, we looked significantly better when he went off. He doesn't have much grounds for the squinty eyes thing either; not exactly setting the world alight and yet acts like it's a joke he's coming off.

Falcao was atrocious and has no future here had no service.

    Fellaini was very good.

I'm actually enjoying winning games this way. I love how it grinds people's gears.

It really takes the edge off the crapness.

Rooney was offside IMO and it was a dive for the peno.

    Delighted though.

We looked much better once Falcao was off. Maybe lone striker with 2 wingers is the way forward.

I thought Rooney looked good tonight pulling players out of position with some good runs. Hererra looked comfortable and had some tidy play. Fellaini played well too and Di Maria had some good moments especially in the first half. Rojo was solid. Aside from that nobody looked very impressive tonight.

Or maybe just admit that Falcao is never going to work out and drop him completely.

Obviosuly there were excited when Preston scored and butt hurt when we scored 3.

Ashley Young (on for Falcao) changed that game instantly. The width himself and Di Maria offered to Rooney and Fellaini in the middle tore Preston apart.

Yeah, I meant Rooney as lone striker.

I want Rooney and Wilson up front

Nice to get though that game after going a goal down. There does seem to be a great spirit in the team and this continues the unbeaten run.

Really happy with how rojo is performing. Has taken to English football a lot better than I thought he would.
Thought blind was solid once again, Herrera needs to stay in the team but needs to cut some very silly errors and di Maria git in some great positions to run at the Preston defence. His final pass or cross still needs to improve but promising signs.

Now onto Swansea with a massive 3 points on the line.

It isn't going to happen for falcao unfortunately. It should be crystal clear now for the manager how much better we play without falcao and how lethal rooney can be as a striker. I must say also that fellaini deserves a regular starting place ahead of rvp and falcao especially with what he contributes to us. He is finally actually living up to what we all thought was a ridiculous price we paid for him but if you ask me he is well worth the 27 million.

This is the team I'm like to see on Saturday

    De Gea
    Valencia-Rojo-Smalling-Shaw
    Blind
    DiMaria--Herrera--Mata---Young
    Rooney

Rooney was only offside if he touched the ball or was in thebkeepers line of vision so by all rules he wasn't offside. Remember two year ago I cant remember the opposition player involved but johny Evans ended up scoring an own goal because there was an offside player and he thought he was going to hit it but he didn't and so he wasn't counted as offside. But Rooney did dive for peno I agree

Falcao, return to sender. It's not going to happen.
    Valencia, enough is enough.
Di Maria, do whatever it is that needs to be done to him to turn him back into the player he was in Madrid. Thought he was dire tonight.

As has been said (and was obvious) bringing on Young was a good move, changed the game immediately. Rooney was magnificent and Fellaini did well. Thought Herrera was a mixed bag, some flashes of near brilliance and plenty of mediocrity.

They always are, especially when a game is free to air and all the part timers who watch 5 matches a year start spouting bile. It's the same with Liverpool games in fairness on FTA so I tend to avoid them as much as possible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,061 ✭✭✭WallyGUFC

Herrera, Fellaini and di Maria were all fairly good. Valencia fairly poor apart from his cross for Fellaini. Falcao decent at holding the ball up around midfield but he's not doing much to justify keeping him. Much better team performance all round, but the back 4 is still dodgy enough. Hopefully this is a catalyst.

Replace Mata or Herrara with Fellani and it would be more likely

    Poor auld Falcao.

It's just not going to happen for him at Utd, is it...

Delighted with the win tonight. FA cup games can be tricky fixtures, as Chelsea and Man City can attest to :).

That was one of herreras only starts in midfield this season. He can't be expected to become Xavi immediately considering the amount of time he has been spending on the bench. I thought he did really well, all things considered, and if he is given a proper shot a centre mid I think he would add much needed "balance" to the team.

Also, Rooney needs to play up front. His pace is very welcome.
