poor football for the entire season and not a hint of it improving, that is 100% down to the manager especially when he is playing players in all sorts of wrong positions

    Is Herrera the new Kagawa?

Were you there last night(honest question) or anyone that was like to comment on the above?

There was a lot of comments from match attendees last night in other forums late last night, that there was some jeering whistling at half time from sections of the crowd and a lot of frustration during the game.

As I mentioned last night, seems there was a substantial booing at Falcao when he was subbed. Unclear if its dissatisfaction at RVP persistence or at how poor Falcao has been.

Don't think its anything major other then the fans letting the team now it's not good enough, which is very much wasn't.

Put rooney up front with RVP or Falcao and Mata behind them and this team would improve immensily.
The man on the moon can see it but not LVG.
He says we have problem in midfield if he doesnt play rooney there?????
    Why.the.f**k.did.he.spend.€30mill.on.a.center.midfielder....... And not play him?
Instead plays a striker in CM????

    Crazy crazy decisions from Management.

Not sure he fits into any system that allows us to have Rooney high up the pitch and pace on the wings.

He decided no tto buy anybody in the Jan transfer window. He didn't ned to buy a Hummerls etc, but he didn't think that another defender would make much difference.

He has seen these players in training for 6 months. If they are not good enough we should have replaced them, not matter how short term. If, on the other hand, he thinks they have something to offer, then it is his job as manager to maximise their ability.

Ask yourself, have they got better of worse under LvG? Apart from Young, there is no player that has got better

He said from the start of that window that there would be nobody bought for the sake of buying. United should be able to get by with the defence it has for now. Jones and Rojo in the centre with Shaw at left and one of Rafael, McNair or Valencia on the right. It's good enough for top 4 if the rest of the team is set up properly and playing close to it's potential but that's where the problems are.

You can be sure the defence will be rebuilt in the Summer.

Come back to us with your "wisdom" when he's been given as many chances as Kagawa was.

Possibly. Is Van Gaal the new Trapattoni?

quality wise, for the league in total its probably been the worst premier league season I can remember and I think the premier league will be shown up in the champions league knockout stages

He would if we dropped Rvp and falcao and played Rooney up top on his own, with Valencia to the right and di Maria on the left

Have to say thought Fergies last title win campaign was the worst. City totally abject, Chelsea nowhere to be seen. We strolled to a canter to win that league, with a pretty meh squad.

League been a little diluted since then, some belting matches here and there and while the title race was interesting last year, it was down to challengers dropping silly points, rather then winning epic matches.

Results will always override a performance and rightfully so.

The results are there, just not the performance. There is no way he will be sacked

In fairness to Herrera every time he gets on he makes an improvement to the team, would prefer to see him start and get Rooney back up front , dropping either van persie or Falcao. A big bug bear , just pisses me off big time to see so many playing out of position, especially when we are not playing well.

And you equate that to the tide turning on the manager?

Really don't follow Van Gaals comment that if he moves Rooney up front, the midfield has a problem.

Blind, Fellaini, Januzaj, Di Maria, Herrera and Mata are more then enough to do well for what we want to achieve surely?

Falcao might be having a spell out after last night. Preston away on Monday, surely a safe chance to tinker a little.

Rooney to pair Wilson/RVP, Herrera to start right side CM and Januzaj left, Blind in DM, Mata tip of diamond.

Take Di Maria and Falcao out of the firing line for a game and see what else can work.

But he started every game in December and the first three in January. Van Gaal has been very consistent in the way he's been giving the likes of Mata and Januzaj games in bunches.

He's being dramatic, perfectly fine for fans to show some disent towards an abject performance. Doesn't mean there is a tide change.

Van Gaal acknowledged it last night also, maybe the penny will drop ahead of Preston?

Also can't find the link now, but was hoping on google last night and read a really good article on Eurosport recapping Van Gaals week. Said the biggest mistake he has made is treating the English press like adults and football people in line with France, Spain, Holland and Germany.

Was a pretty damning article against the English press but it was spot on. Again last night after Chelsea game entire discussion from press over Ivanovic incident with McCarthy, no one interested in talking actual football.

Post match Stoke game, all the discussion about a penalty not given, **** all talking about the math itself.

If there was a more functioning press core operating in manchester, would probably have more explanations for Rooney midfield, Herrera absence andto me the most striking, Mata. I thought he did really well so far this season, especially in the three games over Christms where the team started to struggle, he was excellent in those games.

For some reason dropped last two games without making an appearance. What's that about?

Thought Mata was striding as the team started to faulter in that period, unusual that he hasnt made a showing in the last two games, where going forward we have looked desperate.

yes but that's the odd result. for example last night where you can say fair enough we were bad but got 3 points, lets forget about it and move towards the next game, but we have been awful for the majority of the season, there is no denying this.

you honestly think, sir alex, bobby Charlton, woodward the glazers are happy with what they are seeing? yes it they get top 4 the season can be forgotten about and we move on, but do you think van gaal is the man to bring us the title next season or challenge for the champions league? I have serious doubts

Something tells me it's going to take a drop from the top 4 to give Van Gaal the kick up the backside he needs and by then it might be too late

He said again last night that we aren't playing well but in third, he said that earlier in the season too, he should be actively trying to fix the problem instead of laughing and joking about it in interviews when he has been in the job 7 months

Soccer is Cornation Street for men in the UK and Ireland for the most part. I haven't seen histrionics like bangkok and Tyson since the Free Deirdre campaign.

This is what you get when you have Van Gaal. From looking at his time with Bayern and the recent Dutch job, LVG seems to love his tactically disciplined midfielders, even when it is at the expense of a midfield that does well in possession. Rooney has been doing a lot of tracking back so LVG probably trusts him there more than the other options.

The next Kagawa and Mata and what's the common denominator well Rooney.
Two World class attacking midfielders and a top class cm all looking a shadow of their former selves. While a world class striker is playing out of position instead of them. You actually could not make it up to be honest.

We have a starting 11 to play lovely football and batter teams but we refuse to do it.

    De gea

    Rafael
    Smalling
    Rojo
    Shaw

    --- Blind

    Herrera
    Di Maria

    Mata

    Rooney
    Falcao

Blind dropping back into a back three with two attacking full backs offering width with Di Maria floating and dragging defenders central.

you are meant to enjoy watching sport, its meant to be fun, watching united this season is like watching Ireland under trap.

Rooney's big problem is he seems to favour either the safe ball or the default crossfield pass to the wings, time and again we've seen him getting into decent positions and refuse to take a chance with a through ball or a give and go followed by a burst into the box.
