I can't cook steak. Husband only likes it cremated but then it seems very tough (don't eat it myself but it looks tough to cut!!). Last time I did it on the George Foreman and it seemed to work better. Any cooking tips would be appreciated. I'll be shot for going off topic!!!! Sorry mod oops ;)

€37.49 per kg isn't particularly cheap, it looks cheap because the steak is so small.

Took that to mean: by comparison of a competitors product - not that the tesco one was cheap.

My father, the best cook I ever met, cooked steak this way, and I do the same: Sear the arse off it on each side, then turn the pan right down low.

You like yours rare, so take it off after five or six minutes (check and you'll get it right for next time), and wrap it in foil to keep it warm. Leave the Kremator's steak on for treble the time, giving it a turn halfway through, and time your vegetables to be ready when his steak is.

Dunnes have very nice sprouting broccoli that goes gorgeous with steak - steam your potatoes, and when they're almost ready, chop the ends off the sprouting broccoli and drop them in the *salty* water under the spuds and do them for about four minutes at a rolling boil. Drain and add a knob of butter and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Sorry but the only way to cook steak is on a bbq, once you try it you'll never go back. I've had to spark up the bbq in the snow when we get steak in!
Btw thanks op for the BA

Those flat irons are also great on ciabattas with some rocket, fried onions and mushrooms. Very cheap

That's all well and good if it's not freezing outside. Anyway, cooked correctly on a pan is fab IMO.

Is eating raw meat the thing now cuz a few "chefs" on the telly did it that way?

Too much grey band on the steak in that pic!

Wasnt mad about it when I tried it

Jamie Oliver says he serves Flat Iton steaks in preference to ribeye or fillet in his restaurants. Also has a rant about the trend for "lean" beef - says the flavour is missing without the fat marbling.

Picked up the ribeye initially thinking oh, boy, this is going to be amazing but then noticed the fat content and went for the leaner cut.

    Apples and oranges.

Apparently having meat served rare to medium has been going on for quite sometime. Maybe even before Telly was invented.

only way to eat it. :pac::pac::pac:
