Least surprising news of the year - More of That is doubtful for the World Hurdle.

    Will he do a binocular!?

Like I said each to his own but id see it like betting on a team you fancy after they go one goal up... 8-1 on Mr Mole to win the champion chase just wouldnt appeal to me at all.

    Dodging bullets all the way

If thats the case Annie Power to World Hurdle and Vroom Vroom Mag(?) to mares?

Annie to Mares is a 5 year mop-up project. No way will Willie deviate from that

Hopefully. :o I only just had a good bet on Annie last weekend for the mares at Evens. This is making me a bit nervous as its ante post bet rules..

They apply the price of the bet on the day and you get a cash return for that amount and free bets in multiples of tenners up to 3/1. So if if he is 1/2 on the day you get €15 cash (€10 and €5) and 2 €10 bets?

SDG has nearly doubled in odds since Saturday. SS now clearish enough favourite. Bizarre market.

Seriously their are doubts about her fitness. Even if she does turn up she will be not much shorter than EVS. Madness having a good bet on an even money shot ante post even more madness when the horse hasn't been seen in a year.

Unless i am missing something you place the bet and you get €40 back when it's up and also a free €10 bet with a new account. So you effectively getting €40 free to play around with for the first day.

I disagree. I cant see Annie Power being evens come the day. More of a good thing than Quevega ever was.

Picking up an injury at home is always a worry but she will be wrapped in cotton wool and Willie will have her fit granted she gets there .

Will Shaneshill and Black Hercules make Cheltenham now?
Havent been seen in a while despite multiple opportunities. Maybe they are being kept for Fairyhouse or something?

Based on my opinion with regards conygree(long time back) please read Phil smiths assessment (now) of this novice.he has rated him 5lb better than denman as a novice.Phil smith" he is one of the best ever novices over 3m,IMO".

When you place your €10 and it wins, they pay out in cash for the odds on the day for Willie to have a winner, say on the day it's 1/4 your cash return is €12.50 (stake and winnings), they then pay your €10 at 11/4 (3/1 - 1/4) in free bets €27.50, but they go on to say the free bets will be in multiples of €10 so it's unlikely they will round up so you could get €20 in 2 €10 free bets. You also get a matched €10 free bet.

So basically, you might not in fact be getting 3/1 about the bet and when it comes in you have 3 €10 free bets instead of €30 cash, when you bet with your free bets and they win you won't get your €30 back as they are free bets.

    Hope that makes sense

Where are you getting 1/4 on the day he is 1/20 to have a winner on day 1. Place the bet now and if he has a winner you get paid out at 3/1.

Regarding the Gold Cup, what are peoples opinions on Bobs Worth?

Along with SC last year he was bang there with a chance and blew up in the last furlong or so. Very poor run in the Lexus but with question marks over so many horses he could suprise at a nice price at 16s.

Obviously has question marks himself but has a fantastic Cheltenham record so i'm willing to give him a chance considering he was 9/4 for this last year and wasn't beat all that far

Im not so keen. Yes I think he will run better than in the Lexus but I still don't think it will be good enough. We might be calling last years gold cup weak but the previous year may well have been worse. I am trying to recall but I think 2013 was amongst the slowest of recent Gold Cups. He is clearly not as sharp as he once was and I cant see him running to a mark in the high 160's. You also have to have something special to come back and win a gold cup. I don't think Bobs Worth is.

Im not sweet on anyone but I'd rather have Lord Windermere, Road to Riches or Djakadam at comparable prices.

A few bookies taking no chaces with Annie Power in the WH, but I honestly cant see it happening . Such a waste of a talented horse, Mullins could easily win the mares with Glens Melody and be more ambitious with AP

+1. I think Glens Melody would mop this up no problem.
You cant knock Willie Mullins for his attitude but its a real pity the depth of firepower isnt spread around. The general fan is definitely losing something.

Bob's Worth well and truly gone for me. Henderson gets his horses to win the big races with no regard for the horses longevity.

I really don't consider 2-3 weeks to be a 'long time back' but maybe age does that to you.

I've would forgive any horse for not performing at leopardstown over xmas considering how tacky the ground was but I just can't forget seeing Bobs Worth walking back in to the ring after the GC, I thought he was going to keel over in front of me. Been to the well too many times I fear as much as I'd love to see him do it.

Bobs worth is one of my bets of the festival at the prices.. His first run can be ignored and they may be nothing between the top 5 here so he is the value..

Looks like More of That is out of the World Hurdle after bursting a blood vessel during work. At Fisher's Cross starting to look value at 25's given his course form. Plus the fact he'll probably go off single figures due to the AP factor so chance to lay off on the day.

Glens Melody is a nice horse but she will do well to beat Aurore Destrival. If AP turns up not fully fit she won;t have it easy against her either.

I would rather back Bob's Worth at 16/1 than the fav at 10/3 who looks like bambi on ice going up the hill.

Henderson has produced horses to win at the festival multiple times.
see you then, remittance man, stormyfairweather, spintre sacre and bobs worth won there three years in a row. If that aint longevity I dont know what is...

Based on facts, Denman was 6/7 as a novice, whereas Coneygree is 7/8 as a novice.

Guys, c'mon.... I've had to delete more posts from this thread due to posters having petty arguments and calling each other idiots. It has to stop now or otherwise people will receive infractions and/or bans and not make it to Cheltenham in one piece.

    Final warning.

I have no idea what the odds WILL be, it was a guess to use for the example. If he is 1/20 then you get less from this offer.

See attached the terms, I have unlined the important parts, people see to be missing.

You place the bet at 1/20 or whatever and when it's up they make up the difference and pay you out at 3/1 that night, unless i am missing something that;s what it means.

They can;t have a set price at 3/1 because everyone could add it to their betslip. So new members get a tenner at whatever odds and they pay out at 3/1 once its up.

Lads, Boyles are now NRNB on novice races. I've backed Nichols Canyon for both Supreme 7/1 and Neptune 6/1. While I think his running style is tailor-made for the Supreme, he'll be sub 3/1 if lining up in Neptune. Clearly the standout novice on form.
