Our next 3 games will determine whether we make top 4 or not.

    Next 13 games will tbh.

It's all well and good saying results are número uno ahead of attractive football but if you keep performing so badly so consistently eventually it's going to go to shít

I thought Smalling, after a poor first half was mostly decent in the second.

Herrera did alright when he came on, nothing special. He's certainky not the messiah or second coming, I think people are overvaluing him but I certainly agree that actually playing midfielders in midfield makes sense.

Being honest Swansea even look like a mighty struggle now.. Liverpool, Arsenal & Spurs form has me worried,

So falcao has one bad game and it's drop him time? There's plenty more players ahead of him in that q.

Set up the team to create chances , put pace into the attack. If falcao still hasn't scored then drop him and send him
    Back to Monaco.

Before the game, united and villa were the only two teams not to have been awarded a penalty. We all know how about villa and scoring. Create chances and space and you get goals and penalties.
We need our players running at defences and creating spaces rather than knocking it sideways and backwards.

Where did I say drop him?

He was awful tonight and deserved to be hauled off.

His finishing has overall been poor since he joined.

I suppose he did get an assist tonight, in fairness

He's missed chances alright but so has rvp.

After the last two performances, my expectations for getting in top 4 have dwindled.
Just pure ****e really. No matter whether the tactics and personnel were right or wrong, the players on the field are just not performing.
    .

    Agree with this.
We could debate formations all day long , but some of it is just players not performing.
Players taking a poor first touch, not making sure of their passes again.

It's just one example , but for Ings' goal, that was just awful "marking" by Smalling,

Or when Herrera passed the throw in back to McNair which was offside.

You could make the argument that I'm being a little harsh, but it's a great gif and wanted to post it :pac:

RVP and Falcao both look ****e because they are isolated up front with 0% service coming there way due to a complete lack of a MF, a sorry shambles of a MF selection going on behind them.

LVG seems more than happy to haul Falcao off when RVP has less fight in him but he seems to favor him. Watch the press scapegoat Falcao and go to town on him.

The manager and his team selections are our biggest problem right now.

We will not get fourth unless he changes things quickly.

He took Falcao off because A, he was playing badly and B Van Persie is better at dropping deep then him and playing the shadow striker role. Wilson for Falcao is like for like. No issue with the sub tonight

RVP played alright in the end, he had a very big hand in the second goal and once Burnley were getting tired he was good on the ball, the midfield being brutal doesn't do the strikers any favours

Herrera needs a few games in a row, if he gets them he'll get a lot better. He's quality, he just needs a chance to show it again. Some faith in him from Louis would help greatly.

Big fan of Falcao but this nonsense of trying to shoehorn him and Van persie into same team has to stop, Waiting every week for Falcao to hit the form of old it's clearly not going to happen not at United anyway and it's affecting our play and balance, Cut our losses at the end of his loan and move on.

I thought the oor holdup play from Falcao a while back was him getting match fitness back. He is just atrocious at it.

Literally needs to be running onto crosses or poaching, can't come deep to receive.

Spurs who lost last night and Arsenal who beat the team that are bottom of the league by less of a margin than the Utd result tonight?
Spurs have lost twice as many games as Utd so far this season. Liverpool are one loss away from losing twice as many as us. Only City and Chelsea have lost lass games than Utd so far in the league.

Look the football has been very poor and the Rooney thing has been done to death and is a joke at this stage but people are hugely over reacting with their doom and gloom. Utd are bang on course for a top four finish as things stand.

Ok but you quoted my post and your first line was "so Falcao should be dropped now?".

Both RVP played badly as did the entire team actually but Falcao was better imo. Falcao did very well to assist the first goal, he peeled off well from his marker and showed some strenght to get the ball across to Smalling.

He fought well and dropped deep many times and had a better pass accuracy than RVP.

Also not surprised to see RVP and Falcao persisted with. Van Gaal always banging on about how training is what matters, thats where he takes the real decisions. i'd look ****ing incredible playing against Johnny Evans at the moment, my god he looks diabolical

Even bangkok would look good against Evans.

That bit was more about the general feeling about falcao. He ha a **** game and deserved the hook. I don't think he deserves to be dropped and shipped out. Get it right and hell get us 25+ a season.

Mc Nair really has an eye for a pass. Wouldn't mind seeing him get a run at RB if Rafael is out of the picture.

So you have no argument then.

Falcao for Wilson is like for like, RvP is more adept to playing the role he played when Wilson came on and both were ****e for much of the game.

Man Utd boss Louis van Gaal: "We were not so good today and we were lucky... I don't like this performance today"

    Well put.

    Fair enough.

    Well put.

Its all well and good but what does he expect when he continues to put out a midfield consisting of Rooney, Di Maria and Januzaj?

There is **** all balance there and its not going to work.

I couldn't hear it on my stream, but seemingly Falcao got a fair few boo's from home fans after being subbed?

Didnt hear any, there was groans a lot when the team was playing backwards instead of forwards, and once or twice when Adnan lost the ball stupidly when trying to do too much but can't say I heard boos for Falcao at all.

He worked as hard as he always does, it just wasn't his night.

I heard booing alright. At first I though it was Utd fans but then presumed it was the Burnely fans as he'd recently been booked for that arm up in the challenge in the air.

Also, because I didn't hear the Utd fans the whole game more or less, I decided it must have been the Burnley fans.

Really don't hope any utd fans boo.

Will really show them up for being spoilt

    Was at the game

The booing came from the away fans, who were excellent.

What a shít performance. Rooney is ruined, Evans was rubbish and Rvp trotted around alot. He can't play up top with Falcao
