You should actually look to the UAE for the big money in British racing,

Well there you go. And how many shops to Paddy Power operate over there?! :pac:

Three times in a row my bet has been chinned by one poxy team. Last week it was Wycombe, yesterday it was Shrewsbury and tonight PSG screw me.

And Zlatan missed a penalty! :(

Had a cracking day in Leopardstown today lads, if you can get down to the Gold Cup in future you should give it a go. Ended up about €50 up so can't argue with that after a day of pints and food! Took tomorrow off work tomorrow to nurse the head.

if only there was some way to place a bet without going into a bookies, i tell ya, whoever gets around that conundrum will make a fortune!

They would need to have friends placing them for them in the UK. Gambling in shops or online is illegal in the UAE like many other countries. Paddy Power etc's websites would not work over there, they don't have a licence to operate there.
It also goes against Islamic law, which for many , is enough reason to not do it.

As far as I'm aware, you are correct about gambling being illegal.. Still doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
Gambling sites aren't geoblocked, bet365 do business with UAE
But even that is off point, I'm sure the owners when in England have no problems betting, or having their horses race in events sponsored by betting companies or drinks companies,

When you see horses with blinkers, not knowing where they are going or what they are doing, then its not really a sport.
I think awec mentioned the betting aspect, once you take that out, you have nothing.because without the bookies and betting, nobody gives a fiddler's who wins a race?

If I may educate you. I own a stable of horses. Myself and the family all ride horses. We break and back horses. We hunt with horses. My wife and youngest take part in eventing. We showjump.

You obviously have no idea what blinkers are or do. You do agree?
Therefore why try and bring something into your argument that you know nothing about. It makes you look foolish and silly and open to ridicule.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Sorry, i thought the use of blinkers was being discussed. Am I incorrect?

    'lad' ?
    No need for that.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. When a mod is typing in bold that's a mod instruction. Move on and leave the debate - you've both become a tad uncivil and there's no need for it in this thread. Any problems PM me, do not reply to this any further on-thread.

    You think you're bad.

My throat is sore and my voice is hoarse...doc reckons I'm stable but he was happy that I was able to jockey to the front of the queue. Hay maybe I shouldn't saddle everyone with my problems.

Jesus I am woeful at these!!

    Hope you've nothing major.

    I've 2 minor ones -

    1. Volume on tele must be an even number - cannot be odd ever

    2. If I see a good looking girl walking towards me, I always have to turn around when she passes to check out her arse...

You should go to A&E immediately about that second one. Doesn't sound normal

Anybody catch Better Call Saul last night? I was pleasantly surprised. Another episode tonight too. I was expecting it be rubbish. Vince Gilligan's cinematography is decent.
