    I wish!

Judging on what LvG was saying recently, he'll be playing in midfield for a while.

    Cos they are dicks.

Was looking up stats for Rooney vs West Ham earlier.

In 20 games against them he has 18 goals and 5 assists.

Ive drafted him into my FF team and made him captain.

    Thank me tomorrow.

Again apologies everyone else ive the house to myself this weekend, guess its too much free time.

BC you said "Thank me tomorrow". What did you mean by it if not to give advice about FF or as its too late to brag about your decision?

To answer your question ive actually fallen down stairs multiple times but it hasnt stopped me being a pedantic prick

I simply ment that as I had made Rooney my captain he was bound to score tomorrow / play well and that United would win which would make United fans happy.

I thought it was pretty obvious that it was an attempt to add a bit of levity to the thread, I must have been mistaken.

Lol tbh honest I thought it was pretty obvious too but obviously some people look beyond meaning to jump down another persons throat :) would you put in falcao as vice captain please we will double thank u.

That was an absolutely massive 2 points lost for City yesterday; It effectively deals a near-fatal blow to their hopes of retaining the title and opens up their 2nd place as a realistic target for at least the next 4 teams below them. Dead fúcking on.

Southampton are currently proving me wrong, and I'd enjoy watching them do it if we were in Chelsea's place, i.e. all but out of sight, and not in direct contention with them for a Top 4 spot. I thought they'd have long subsided by now and I was very wrong. What's more, they deserve to be still in the Top 4 and I'm done ruling them out. Nerves of steel and proven experience are of utmost importance to holding 1st place and seeing out a title challenge triumphantly, but for Top 4 in a season where all the top contenders are dropping silly points, they are are not as vital. Europa or C.L., Southampton are going to Europe next season.

Spurs are the next team after Southampton to give me some jitters. Their performances are starting to click these last 5-6 weeks and they really do have most of the parts to comprise a perfect beast if those parts were to start working in true harmony. However, ascending to a lofty height and then capitulating at the important stage of the season is not something uncommon at Spurs, I worry about Southampton as contenders more than them for mainly this reason. Also, like RVP that season for us, Harry Kane has been a points-grabber for them. Him picking up an injury would be detrimental to their Top 4 chances.

Every season Arsenal get Top 4 somehow, and until their defeat to Spurs yesterday I was sure they'd get in somehow in the next month or 2. Unfortunately for them (and all teams competing for Top 4) the competition has gotten so much tighter in recent years especially this one, with the rise of Southampton and Spurs and the reemergence of Liverpool. Speaking of Liverpool, not 2 months ago I personally was enjoying the bad run of results they were enduring and had gleefully written them out as Top 4 contenders. Even they, after a terrible start to the season, now have rightful cause to flirt with Top 4 notions.

Definitely the tightest and most unpredictable season I can remember in a long time, as regards Top 4 anyway. Whether City do get 2nd or not, I can't see them completely falling out of the Top 4, so it's pretty safe to assume that 2/4 spots are going to Chelsea and City. So that leaves United, Southampton, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool to pick up the other 2 spots.

Later today, we have the best chance yet of putting a real grip on one of those spots. We have a very good shot at putting some space between us and the rest of the hungry pack on the fringes of the Top 4. I've seen some posters say 'This is not a must win game', and it's not in terms of us still being in the mix if we don't win. However, if we don't win, it will be the biggest missed opportunity for us so far this season as far as capitalising on other results goes. We are giving far too much respect to the opposition lately, and that isn't unusual in this post-Moyes time I know, but "Oh West Ham have come on, they're hard to beat at home etc." Fúck that shít, with our team we should be beating them to nil later today. That isn't to say I'm confident of a win, I'm actually a bit nervy, but we definitely should be winning this game.

Top 4 - I think it will happen for us, but a win vs West Ham today would make me believe.

TL:DR; Competition for Top 4 is tighter than it has been in years. We have a very good chance at getting one foot in the door with a win today. Anything less than a win is a missed opportunity, one we would definitely rue by the end of the season. 2nd is there for the taking but we could just as easily, if not easier, fall out of the Top 4 if not careful. Just take one game at a time, and most of all...

. Darren Fletcher has been named captain on his debut for the club #BURWBA

    Great post
Southampton I am most concerned about IMO
Southampton is our only loss in the last 17 matches?? I think??? They beat us at home and rightly so
Also, yesterday showed they are digging out late wins

We don't have to play them again our defining part of our season is going to be the next five games or so until we play spurs we have games we should be winning easily if we win them we will be in a good position confidence wise to start off our run in against spurs then arsenal and liverpool and Chelsea and city with villa thrown in there too lol talking about a hard run in Alex Ferguson wouldn't ever stand for that ha. But the best thing about it is its in our hands of we can win next five games or so and keep our confidence growing we will be in great form to play the so called top teams and challenge city for second spot.

Ohh I love this time of year hopefully we can get a good run going.

Southampton show the importance of a good tactical setup and formation, making the whole greater than the sum of it's parts. They have good players, one or two that could be a little above the level they're at, but they are still sitting comfortably with the big dogs with the bigger cheque books

Koeman has outperformed Van Gaal in that regard, and you could argue Pochettino has too. Van Gaal really needs to up his game

The next 5 games we should be looking for maximum points, I didn't realise how tough a run we have after that, the next six games we have Spurs (H), Liverpool (A), City (H), Chelsea (A), Everton (A)

Morrisons contract terminated by West Ham.
He's going to throw his career away.

Such a waste. He's supposed to be off to Lazio though.

But trophies are never given out in February nor are champs league spots. Its ok to say they have out performed lvg tactically but van gall has won more trophies then both of them managers. united can go on a run for the next number of games and make top four a formality so rite now I will support the team and manager and reserve judgement until end of season. Koeman and pochettino have won nothing and achieved nothing as managers they have just put their teams in a decent position to finish strong. The final few months of season is when teams go on runs or drop away then we will see

I'm looking forward to that run of games. I think the team has performed much better in the tougher games this season.

Moyes seems to be getting a lot of love and support in Spain. I'm really happy things worked out for him there.

There's a banner now in the Sociedad stadium saying:

    'THE CHOSEN JUAN' :D

Bale got awful stick from his own fans today, hopefully they keep it up so there might be a chance in the summer

I think the Varane love is very misplaced tbh, especially wanting him over a far more suitable candidate for what we need

I dont pay too much attention to the Spanish league, but can anyone tell me why exactly is Bale getting abuse/stick off the Madrid Fans in recent games? Or when/why it started?

I'd reckon it's a combination of them being dicks and Bale not been "glamorous" enough, in their minds, for Madrid.

It's also well documented that Spaniards hate the movie Free Willy so the whole Wales connection doesn't help either.
