The Bothy Band - After Hours (weirdly enough) from that wonderful Mulligan Records label.

    I honestly can't remember.

I was given a free Seth lakeman album in 2008 or so...that's the last one I remember receiving

Over Christmas, I picked up a CD from a band that a cousin of mine is playing in. His Mother asked me would I buy a copy. Thought nothing of it, and was happy to offer my support. I even decided to listen to it. Unbelievable tripe. The lyrics seemed to involve saying the word f*cker and giving out about capitalism in an Athlone accent. Punk, my Mother tells me.

He really needs to buckle down and get his degree, as he won't be making any money from his music career. I don't think I've bought a CD in about 5 years before that. Even though I do buy/rent my music.

Today I received two I had ordered online: "Time and Place" by Andrew Cash, and "Red Earth" by Crash Vegas. Awaiting another one by Crash Vegas.

Before that I have no idea when I last bought one.

I'd still rather buy CDs than expensive, rip-off vinyl. Last CDs I bought recently were:

I agree, and I like the idea of owning something I really like , in a physical sense rather than virtual music - i like to see something like artwork.
Used to have vinyl back in the day and swore I wouldn't go digital - then in the mid 90 made the jump to cd's - been collecting cd's ever since.

Last cd bought Lou reed - Coney Island baby

p.s. i now only buy stuff i really like , but damned to pay over the odds for vinyl (it is a better sound , but back in the late 80's we were told it was ****e , and cd 's were infinitely superior - lies lies lies

Yellow Hedgerow Dreamscape, a compilation of early Porcupine Tree archive material. Haven't listened to it yet.

I think it was about 4-5 year ago and it was Rolled Gold: The Very Best of the Rolling Stones. I download everything now, so that was probably the last CD I will ever buy.

About 3 weeks ago I bought 3 albums from two lads called Sean and Zander, a support act I had just seen. They were fecking deadly!

Love Jimmy Eat World, do not love that album, it's crap.

    Arcade Fire Reflektor

Contains 2 songs (Afterlife and We Exist) which would probably get in my top 10 tracks by them, though the album itself falls just short of their usual high standard which is unequalled by any band over the last 10 years imo.

I bought Wilde Woman by Lucius for the missus for Christmas, and she got me the Wicked soundtrack. The last one I bought for myself was The Red Album by Loudermilk - great histrionic rock. I miss the 90's, and the tapes I made off 2FM, and as I got a bit older, Phantom.

    Modern Blues by the Waterboys.

For those of you who only buy lossy iTunes downloads and not CDs, vinyl or lossless downloads, haven't you noticed the lack of volume or punch in the sound? Compare even a CD to an iTunes download, there's a huge difference in the sound.

Love that album. it grew on me. Didnt quite get it till i seen them in Marlay over the summer. imo it was written to be played live. Porno produced by lcd's james murphy is epic.

Anyhow..love collecting music. I stream to my Marantz with spotify and if i hear something i like i go and buy the cd. How backwards is that hehe.

London grammar for herself and massive attack heligoland for me.

Like getting special edition cd's with extra songs and discs. Play.com is a good site for that
