I thought the services were due to open in the first quarter of this year ?

If it's finished in February why wait 6 months to fit it out and get tenants in? Seems a bit strange to me.

How f***ing Irish is that. Its taken long enough to build at a cost of millions and going to sit idle for six months. What a waste of money.

"Jan 18th-Major change to the traffic layout on the N11 Dublin/ Wexford Rd at Jack Whites. Traffic will be diverted off the existing N11 at Jack Whites and travel on a new alignment through to the new R/A and rejoin the existing N11. This new stretch of road will remain in place for remainder of the works! (80 km/hr speed limit will be in place)"

I'm struggling to make sense of this.
    What is "new R/A"?
The new RoundAbout at Jack Whites? Would that be considered a "Major Change"?
    Is there another new RoundAbout?
    Does R/A mean something else?

There is no mention of these new changes on the N7N11 website

Dutch. BAM are in charge of all this.

Seems that BAM would only be building it but it's the fit-out that sounds like it will take ages.

Still, as PPP operator, a problem of theirs though. Failing in project management, inability to find a concessionaire, whatever - all their issues.

There's another around about at the other side of the motorway underpass there at Jack Whites. Maybe it's that?

Passed through it earlier in the week but not a regular user of it but because the new "big" roundabout at Jack Whites is already in use I reckon it means you will have to leave the N11 at this roundabout and cross over to the other side to the smaller roundabout and take the "new" section for a short stretch until it merges in with the old road again. Note the old road and new road pass very close to each other both north and south so I'm not sure in which direction this change is going.

Overall it still looks very fragmented. There's spots where they are laying CBM and even top layer so you think they are working towards a partial opening between junctions but then there's a bit in the middle of a section which is still at rockbreaking or early earth moving stage.

Here is some drone footage of a few locations on the scheme, starting at the Beehive junction and progressing southwards via Jack White's:

Brilliant footage -- great idea and thanks for showing it.
Amazing that some sections are so advanced and some look as if work just started a few weeks ago. Difficult to see the last part - from Jack Whites towards Arklow - being ready for the autumn opening.

Any update on the rumored changes to the layout from today? There are some big works going on in the area today according to AA Roadwatch so is this part of a new layout changeover or is this the sum of the works for the area and the FB update is just a bit wrong?

    AA Traffic Update

As part of the on the ongoing works on the N11 Dublin/ Wexford Rd, there will be additional lane closures in place on the N11 between Ballymoyle Lane and Jack White’s Interchange on Sun 18th Jan from 8am to 4pm. Delays can be expected.

I'm not sure what lanes they want to close - on that section you basically have two narrow lanes, one per direction. Do they want to set up stop-and-go operation?

I travelled up and down over the weekend and the Garda Facebook "announcement" seems to describe the current layout at Jack Whites that's already been in place for a few months.

Great video, thanks for taking the time to put it up.

Do you mind me asking what kit you were using?

This has raised the bar a bit.
No longer will smartphone photos from a moving car be sufficient to sate our appetite for updates.

    One of these:

It's a great piece of kit. They now have a new one that is even nicer, but it's more than twice the price. Look for the Inspire so that you know what you're missing...

Now I'll be expecting such updates form every future road (and not only road) projects.

Once they really start working on M17/M18 we hope to see you in that thread too ;)

serious work going on at the beehive interchange this week...machines and trucks everywhere...they must be in a rush to get this part done, and the traffic switched to the new intersection, so they can bulldoze the old road,a dn continue with the surfacing of the new road towards the northern tie-in!!

Just heard guy from NRA on Newstalk being asked by George Hook if this would be opened in phases or one single opening and he said the later as it is too dangerous to open it in stages as it will connect one continuous piece of motorway. He also said it is most definitely on track to open in August.

I think they'd struggle for a partial opening anyway the way there area tackling it. The works are very fragmented.
