The curious political agenda of Emma Watson

Some of you may recall the multi-millionaire, ivy league graduate, former child actress Emma Watson preaching from her merry soapbox about 'sexism' she faced growing up as an upper class member of the British establishment, culminating in her once being horrifically labelled 'bossy' by other children at the local speech and drama school. Rumours that the Simon Wiesenthal centre have offered their solidarity remain unconfirmed at this time.

Well little Emma Watson has only gone and outdone herself by lecturing world leaders at the Davos forum about gender equality and, ahem, 'women's empowerment':

    http://www.independent.ie/business/davos-world-economic-forum/the-world-is-held-back-because-women-arent-equal-emma-watson-launches-new-initiative-with-powerful-davos-speech-30930781.html

Yaw, yaw, yaw. It's all very good spoofing us with your phoney war stories Watson, and I'm sure your Guardianista friendly, policy vague droolings on equality make some lovely psuedo-intellectual side salad on facebook and twitter.

Now how about you cut the chit chat and address the REAL areas of gender equality-namely large parts of the Middle East where speaking out if you are a women can get you a jar of battery acid in the face, or stoned to death for committing 'adultery' by getting raped. Almost every Western country allows for gender equality and empowerment in terms of legal and political framework, so it would be nice if you directed the spotlight on somewhere like Pakistan or Saudi Arabia for a change. Or it is a case of shuffling in your seat and muttering excuses when we bring up the elephant in the room?

Does anyone else smell a rat when these precious 'aktores' and luvvies start dictating policy to Western society? What is their agenda? If they truly wanted to address equality then maybe they should go for the mother load.
It appears Watson is being groomed for a position in the UN, and has decided to hop on board the lucrative multi million dollar talking shop of patronising rich Westerners who will bestow upon us their holy teachings from time to time.........without offering any realistic solutions.
Blaming Western society for every problem is starting to get a little tiresome, and it's about time we called these chancers out on their bullsheete.

I'm mad as hell, and I'm not accepting this rubbish any more.

    Champagne and crackers, anyone?

TLDR: Cranky man calls out celebrity spoofers

Good for you, Boring username, being so dismissive of a person using their fame to make their voice heard and highlight issues of concern to them. How dare she.

I've thanked your post not necessarily because I agree with you, but because I like your way with words.

(I am aware of the irony in that statement given the context she is brought up in here)

I'd objectify the **** out of her.

    On a related note:

Feminists wanted "Equality of Freedom". Fair enough. Boom they got it.
Feminists now want "Equality of outcome" and that is something no human has ever/will ever be lucky enough to have.

Sometimes it seems they feel like they're owed an apology from men for being born human and human life/nature for being chaotic. For as long as we are alive and human they will have obstacles throw in front of us.

Except she hasn't. As I pointed out, fluffly generic soundbytes don't amount to diddly squat in this world. As a self appointed messiah of feminism, she needs to start landing punches where they matter, instead of having a go at Western nations who are centuries ahead of the rest of the world.

another privileged political activist fights for her first world american and european sisters who all live like princesses while women in the developing world who are actually suffering from gender discrimination have no voice

Womens rights are her agenda. What is so curious about that? I think she is pretty open about it.

    You said it bro.

I know what the Feminists and their Mangina accomplices will say in response to this - that's a case of "whataboutery" and "two wrongs not making a right" but when they kick up such a fuss about things like what can appear in our newspapers and song lyrics but when you talk about FGM they simply benignly agree that it's terrible then plough on about their bruised egos.

I'm pleased to see people like you calling out celebs like Emma Watson, as she betrays the idiocy and double standards of modern western Feminism... If I may be allowed a shout out, the "Women Against Feminism" Facebook and Tumblr Pages have some excellent thoughts from women on why they want nothing to do with the movement.

Emma has been telling us over and over that Feminism is not here to dictate to you.

Well if Emma Watson says it... :-D

Love is the only context that really matters.

Irony is the fact that her performances as Hermione Granger will have more of a positive effect on young women (and men) than anything she ever says at the UN.

Soooo, instead of making any attempt to tackle these inequalities yourself that seem to concern you so, you decide to take a pop at someone else who is at least making some attempt to tackle them?

Righto, carry on, I think I know where this is going...
