@UtdReport: After today's PL fixtures, #mufc officially have the 3rd best defence in the league with 21 conceded goals. #mulive

    Surprising enough!

The Di Maria up front thing is one of the most frustrating situations at the moment with LVG.

    Following stats are from whoscored.

When he was played in midfield, out of 9 appearances, he scored 3 goals and got 5 assists.

When he was played up front, out of 4 appearances he has gotten 1 goal and 1 assist.

It's pretty obvious Di Maria is best used in midfield. I hope to fcuk LVG fixes this.

If they can hit the ball into the box, I couldn't give a **** if de gea ran up and helicoptered his dick and hit the ball into the box.

Falcao should have been playing, not sure where I said otherwise?

I don't know why jones was taking corners. He isn't exactly lethal at being in the box for a corner. Maybe he was good in training?

Will we see it in the next match? I would hope not.

we are talking about Manchester united here, not some sunday league 40 year old player taking a corner..

as andrei kanchelskis said today, as long as van gal is over united we wont win a league title in the next 10 years

The same Chelsea that didn't beat us earlier in the season under Van Gaal?

I get your frustration but you are totally over reacting.

    On the corner thing.
I would bloody hope any professional footballer can hit a ball into the box.

It shouldn't be a stick to beat anyone with.

Complaining about Phil Jones taking a corner reeks of Paddy Power #epicfail lolz Phil-Jones-face banter cringe.

Yeah let's all go beat on our chest and puff it out and hold onto history.

Rawr we have had Ronaldo and best in our team, how dare any other team try to even look at us.
It's nice you got the club right, but you are hanging onto history and not looking at the now.

The "now" is Wayne Rooney in midfield game after game despite being shite there and despite alternatives on the bench. Thats the now, hope you are enjoying it.

i was at the game saturday and the united fans were going mental at half time....they chanted "442" at van gaal and he gave into the crowd...

look at the stick moyes got last year compared to what van gaal has got

    Surprising enough!

Not really, we have been fine defensively for a while. It's been the problem of trying to score goals that has been our downfall since christmas.

The problem seems to be that LVG doesn't see him as first or second choice striker, or first choice CAM. But has to get him in somewhere, so into midfield he goes. Fergie didn't seem to see Rooney as a first choice striker either, nor did Moyes arguably.

.... Ya a manager of his experience gave into the crowd.

I gather you don't like him. Do you want him fired? Who do we replace him with?

Chelsea's second goal yesterday was a thing of beauty and with the players we have it's a mystery why we can't play more direct like that and score those regularly and stop all the crossing

Even Liverpool have taken an adaption of 352 (kind of 5221) only recently and now look better than we do despite us having a lot more time to work on it, they press better, move better, pass better despite having inferior players almost all over the pitch really

Liverpool are a much more mobile team than Man Utd imo.

van gaal has imo been worse than moyes, we have been shocking this season for the amount that was spent.

    totally bizarre decisions being made....

    continued back 3
    di maria up front
    rooney midfield
    jones taking corners

    shocking stuff

This is bollocks to be fair, whether it is "IMO" or not. You are well entitled to your opinion but I think there's a serious overreation going on here.

I would prefer to be in utds situation rather than Liverpools though no matter how much more mobile they are

More mobile in meaning more energy & speed in the team.
That why Liverpool press better than Man Utd.
A bit weird having to explain it tbh feels like im talking to 10 year olds.

United don't really play that aggressive pressing style though.

United have the players, the right players aren't playing and they just aren't being tactically trained well enough. It all comes down to Van Gaal

    .....Carrick..
    Ander Di Maria
    .......Mata.....
    Falcao....Rooney

As a front 6 is as mobile as any other team in the league tbh

Just back from a 2 week vacation.

Come back to this, Titan16 saying lvg should be sacked in the summer.
The hysteria and tin foil hat attitude about de gea leaving.

Fair enough the last 2 performances weren't the best and it's all been covered, but some posters get so hysterical when we lose a game.

Other than for the sake of continuity, what has LVG done so far that would justify him continuing as manager. Fair enough if we were improving as the season went on, but we're getting worse.

In regards the Jones taking corners thing, fair enough having him taking corners, but he's probably one of our biggest threats at set pieces so not having him in the box is stupid anyway.

Utd regularly have 60% possession. Tey don't 'need' to press as heavily.

Don't have the players too play that style. I think Man Utd will buy alot of new players in the summer. The main thing they will be looking for is to get some pace into the team.

Teams that press are not always possession teams. Being able to win the ball back high up the pitch helps creates chances alot easier because there isnt 9 or 10 players behind the ball.
