I've decided to go without Costa as I can't bring myself to drop Austin so I had a lot of cash to improve my defence:

    Krul pantilimon
    Baines terry Bertrand pva wisdom

    Aguero Austin Kane

I'm probably the only person in here to pick Baines on their wc but he has a nice fixture this week.

He's a great pick. Top 5 defender this season despite playing in one of the worst defenses. You'd have to think he'll score better from here on in if they get some clean sheets going. Would love to get him in if I could afford it. Still likely down the road but I'm tied into value on a lot of players I want in the wildcard so won't be this week

More I look at it the more I like it. Hutton for PVA or Guzan for Panti and that's the strongest ive seen. Just feel Villa are scoring well at the back and 2 sunderland players would worry me. Very very strong team

Ya the Costa cash elsewhere could make a serious team. Good differential

Best goalkeeper pairing going forward? Currently on Foster/Myhill for the cheapest. But would kind of like the security of 2 playing keepers. Have had no keeper play twice so far.

    Forster
    Bertrand Van Aanholt Wisdom
    Sanchez Hazard Chadli Silva
    Kane Costa Ings

    Heaton Chambers Shawcross Brady

    Any suggestions?

Thanks, I have 0 in the bank so can't afford either of the villa moves. I'll probably just play pva for good home fixtures and I rate him highly so reluctant to drop him.

Have jiggled around to try get Aguero but conscious I am weak at the back.

    Forster
    Bertrand Van Aanholt Wisdom
    Sanchez Hazard Chadli Downing
    Kane Costa Aguero

    Heaton Wesilewski Bruce Brady

    Too weak??

I'm going to play it once today's deadline has passed. That gives me two weeks to settle on a team due to the FA Cup weekend next week.

Get rid of Bruce, I don't think he'll start every week. They seem to regularly switch from a back 4 to a wing back formation and Bruce won't play if it's a back 4.

Realistically, that was probably the smartest option but my team was such a mess after the Christmas spell (my own doing. Took too many random punts!) that I played it soon as it was available.

The thought of injuries scary me. :o

Dinnery tweeting that Bertrand facing a late fitness test. Might save a wildcarder.

I have been holding off until after GW23 kicks off to play my WC.

Had a WC team in my mind but looking at the price rises over the last few weeks, I'm feeling like I won't be able to get the team I want. With Aguero rising, the cheapie defenders and both Chelsea / Soton defence rising I may not afford my ideal.

I've been holding off because of 1 player in particular!

    Cheers for the advice lads

    Panti hammer
    Jones ,Bertrand,wisdom,,wasi,cameron

    Austin,costa,aguero

Me too. Let the madness begin! Also gives us a League Cup SF to observe. Whoever gets to the final (plus their opponents) will have a blank but I doubt many be able to ditch Costa/Hazard/Kane for one game. Makes the subs very important for that week.

D.Sturridge or T.Walcott perhaps? I am also hoping they hit form and contention.

Your post highlights how much can be done with the money.

    Currently my options are...
Costa + Siggy + Cheap Defender
    Pelle/Giroud + Bertrand + Siggy
    Austin + Bertrand + Walcott/Silva

Have to factor in getting Aguero & re-shape my defence. I'm gonna go with a frontline of

    Sturridge. Aguero & Costa

Probably been asked already but is the next GW coming (GW 23) the last chance to use the January wildcard?

First proper draft of the January Wildcard :D

    9334912e0ffd1d79e4d7992219023f41.png

Any advice or critique is greatly appreciated lads.

In terms of defense, I'd be starting Terry and Jones almost every week with one from that Villa/Sunderland/West Brom. Said trio guarantees a very nice home game every week from now until the end of the season with the exception of GW24 (Burnley away). My main question would be is Jones guaranteed to keep his place if/when Manchester United have all of their defenders fit?

Midfield and strikers speak for themselves in terms of starters etc.

Pantilimon is just a save point magnet, and while I wouldn't be too keen on doubling up on Sunderland, I: 1) don't want to spend a whole lot on a goalkeeper, 2) want someone I can just leave in there and not cause me inevitable frustration if I went for rotating goalkeepers and 3) the only games I'd be doubling up on Sunderland for would likely be Burnley (H), QPR (H) and West Brom (H).

I do have £0.5m in the bank. I suppose I could go for Krul instead of Hamer despite my second point above. Newcastle do have some nice home games in the next few gameweeks, and they might tighten up a bit under a new manager. I can't really see how I could better spend that half million left over in any case.

    Any thoughts please lads? :)

How would this look as a WC side,Havnt had Costa in months!

    Panti Hamer
    Terry Bertrand PVA Hutton Wasi
    Hazard Silva Sanchez Downing Puncheon
    Costa Aguero Kane

    Panti to play full time
Bit worried about 3 Chelsea seeing as they could get into League Cup final,
Any thoughts on team much appreciated

I'd choose between Puncheon and Downing and use them as a fourth midfielder, it'll allow you a proper reserve keeper if nothing else, you don't want to be doubling up on Sunderland ever really so I'd pick to different (playing) keepers.

I don't have a clue what to do with Christian Eriksen. I'm continually about to take him out and he pops up with points when it's least expected. It's infuriating at this stage.

I'm an eriksen owner too, so know what you mean. But I have seen the last 4 spurs EPL games live and certainly in the last 3 he could have scored heavily but for some bad luck. Even commented on it during the match thread yesterday. I wouldn't really class the points yesterday as unexpected. It is tricky though when the likes of chadli are cheaper at spurs and in the game in general there are so many midfield options

At present I'm thinking of letting Silva go and keeping Eriksen. I don't think Silva will score as much with Aguero and Yaya in the team.

My defence is in rag order, I've no United cover v Leicester. Would prefer to keep wildcard to the very last week, but should I pull the trigger now on this?

    Green, Hamer,
    Terry(MCI), Trippier(sun), Hutton (ars), Duff(dropped),Dummet (inj)
    Sanchez, Hazard, Silva, Sterling, Downing
    Aguero, Kane, Costa

The only way I could see tiding it to over till next week would be Dummet for PVA (BUR) and line up with...

    Terry, Trippier, PVA
    Sanchez, Haz, Downing/Silva, Sterling
    Aguero, Kane, Costa

strongly considering taking a punt on defoe instead of Austin or kane?

I know that sunderland are gick but so are QPR and spurs fixtures aren't great. Like last season I expect sunderland to put a few results together and their next 4 fixtures burn H, swan A, QPR H, Baggies H are favourable. He was come back with a point to prove, is a greedy striker who needs no encouragement to pull the trigger and will prob be on pens too....

Anyone see the logic in the defoe differential????

Considering city's next fixture, an aguero blank today would be so nice in terms of my WC plans
