Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Congrats to everyone on getting the call. Youve all done very well and deserve it.

Im still waiting myself with a score of 62 and starting to get a little anxious. Were any of you called on a home phone or any number other than youre mobile.

Im desperate to make sure ive got all the bases covered. Congrats again and vest of luck to everyone else still waiting

  • Registered Users Posts: 100 ✭✭didierdrogba

My mobile is my only contact number so I'm afraid I can't help much mate.

It seems to have gone very quiet since this morning and you'd have thought the calls would have stretched out over a longer time period,so fingers crossed there may be more to go yet...

    Thanks for getting back.
Yea im surprised its went quiet so soon, but whatever the case I just need to suck it up and wait.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 Bearington

Any chance somebody could message me HR's contact number?

  • Registered Users Posts: 101 ✭✭Dr_watson

Call 101 and ask for HR.
I just had to check my call log to be sure I didnt imagine that call this morning. We seem to have the shortest notice period so far of the 1309 campaign. Have to get my finger out and get the essentials.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 Bearington

    Cheers! Managed to get sorted!

I know, I'm still in disbelief at the minute, feel like I'm going to wake up any second now!

Yeah I was surprised at the notice myself, but then again, we've been doing a fair amount of waiting about throughout the campaign!

Hope there are more calls tomorrow for those still remaining!

What essentials do we need? Haha

I think there is a list of stuff that those that have gone before recommend. I will wait and get the induction out of the way first.

Did anyone on here ask about the starting salary? I forgot to ask

I didn't but I'm assuming 23k? Tbh for the career we'll be getting I'm not overly concerned but I'm sure we'll find out in the induction.

I didn't ask. Was gonna take it anyway. Hopefully there will be some info in the induction pack. I will see if anyone in intake 8 knows because we will be the same.

  • Registered Users Posts: 100 ✭✭didierdrogba

    I'd be very confident it's the 23k

One thing I've been wondering, and obviously being as vague as possible,if there's anyone coming from really far afield to Garnerville, would they travel everyday after the residential period or get a place close by short term?

Or is there another option I'm missing altogether?

  • Registered Users Posts: 101 ✭✭Dr_watson

You will probably get the chance to stay on at the hotel GV after the residential part. Alternative is find a short term rental or travel.

  • Registered Users Posts: 100 ✭✭didierdrogba

Ah hadn't realised staying on was possible, unfortunately it would be a last resort for me for reasons I can't really go into on here.

I'll be looking at possible short term rental but kind of hoping there's someone else in the same boat to share the cost!

Just out if interest, is there anyone who'd back out if it was the revised £19k starting pay?

Congrats to you all btw, to say I'm jealous is an understatement :( lol

Surely everyone knew it was dropped to £19k?

Congrats to you all, see you on the inside !

Few words of advice. Start learning the content from the online learning now if you can. Will leave it a lot easier for you post induction. :)

    Trust me !

Wish I had made more notes on the pre-learning now! Finishing up work a week before start date so will dedicate that entire time to it along with an hour or two every night after induction...hoping that's enough!

Can someone please tell me whenever they receive the information in the post so I can keep on top of it? My medical letter never showed up so I am a bit nervous that the important stuff won't!

I wouldn't panic. You will have plenty of time to get something sorted during the residential weeks.

People who got the call yesterday post first thing (around 9 am), so it could be anytime. Also it doesn't seem to be alphabetical as someone post their name is near the end. Finally another person post that they phoned HR and we're told it's a full squad so approximately 40.

Had a missed call from an unknown number and no voicemails left? Do they defiantly leave a voicemail??

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,262 ✭✭✭DesertCreat_15

Make sure you're voicemail is actually activated. I checked a week or two before last calls and mine wasnt!

Congrats. Have been struggling with getting into fitness since Christmas holidays. Look forward to getting to the induction now and finding out about onlinr learning etc. A few have warned me about getting stuck in ASAP.

I was in the gym 5 times a week for 6 months straight in the lead up to Christmas, then spent 3 weeks drinking...first session back last week and you'd have sworn I'd never done a day of exercise!

Haha I feel the same! Planning a 30 mile cycle tomorrow to get the juices flowing! Does anyone know how much PT we will be doing on a daily basis at Garnerville? Hope we do some long runs.

Would be interested to know as well, actually hoping we do a significant amount as it would be nice to be properly fit again.

Definitely going to regret saying that at some point though!
