Very poor performance today, I'm very annoyed with lvgs stubborness to stick with this system its clearly not working

It's always the same when United don't get a result, the usual suspects appear and turn it to sh1te.Let them alone and they'll get bored then go back to their own thread to discuss consolidating 8th place.

Top 4 blown open now, LVG needs to start getting results and soon. Not the worst performance today but something is missing .. very disappointing result.

Liverpool fans feeling a bit brave cause they've won a match?

Getting frustrated watching this 3-5-2 consistently not work.

The team we have is screaming for a 4 at the back.

    More match rhythm required!!!

Hardly the end of the world, still in a better position than a lot of us. Perhaps the kick LVG needs to change things.

Yeah kinda hoping he sees Koemanns comment, and how nonchalant he was about dealing with our three at the back. Just doesn't make any sense, sure he used a 3-5-2 in the World cup, but it was his secondary formation.

So much of his success built of a back 4.

Shocking stuff today, di Maria nowhere near fit enough, Valencia still can't cross, subs were bizarre to say the least

    Great result all the same.

I think its a horrible result for Liverpool and I think anyone with half a passing interest in the Premier League would agree.

But it seems you put a United loss ahead of your team.

Today was a disappointment in every way.

Rooney in midfield is pure wanke. The odd time he hits a perfect Hollywood pass it might result in a goal but our midfield is totally off balance with him and Mata.

Di Maria needs to be played in a deeper position. He is wasted up front.

LVG got it badly wrong. I just hope to christ he moves away from this formation because even when we get a win it does not look convincing.

I have no doubt we will be in the top 4 come the end of the season but we need to get our key players playing well together in the right positions.

Appalling stuff, the team is completely out of shape. 3 at the back offers us nothing.

9 points dropped in 5 games, Not good enough. Van Gaal has made as many poor decisions as Moyes did last season but has been lucky in a lot of games and has better players.

This result today has been coming for 2 months.

Liverpool fans coming in here making snide comments on the money we spend on players?

This 3 at the back shít is retarded - has to change.. Don't think it works in England - too slow and predictable for good defensive PL teams.

I'd look for a hobby pronto, before all the inner anger takes it's toll on you.

Last season at this stage united were
    11 behind Arsenal
    5 behind Liverpool
    3 behind Spurs

But the only decent performance in the last half dozen games has been against a piss poor Newcastle. We are 4th but we can thank others around us for not putting any decent run together, not our own performances.

We played 3-5-2 all game. Jones, Smalling, Blind were CBs. Blind was LCB.

Why should Woodword lose his job? Did excellent job in summer signing players Van Gaal wanted.

His signings so far have been poor. He's signing off on them, has to take some of the blame. In addition to the summer signings, has signed Fellaini and Mata. Not a great record tbh

Tbf, Southampton were very good defensively but this three at the back stuff just has to stop. The vast majority of the times we've played it, we've struggled to create anything. Swansea, Sunderland, Burnley, Arsenal, Villa, Stoke, Southampton home and away, all fairly muck performances going forward, the forwards were living on scraps.

The only decent performances with 3 at the back were at home to a poor Newcastle side and the first half v Spurs.

Van gaal would want to get his head out of his ass and cop on. His substitutions have been pathetic as well. Can't think of many good ones but can think of a lot of poor ones that actually made the team worse.

Didn't we play something like this in alot of games

    DDG

    Raf/Val--Jones/Rojo--Smalling-Shaw/Blind

    Carrick/Blind

    Herrera
    Di Maria

    Rooney

    RVP
    Falcao

It allowed Di Maria to run from midfield and use his pace and make space for Rooney RVP etc.

Sick of watching 5 at the back, was pointless today, Southampton played one up front, Koeman make LVG look stupid

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,219 ✭✭✭✭Pro. F

    - 3 centre-backs plus Carrick
    - Valencia
    - A striker in midfield

You don't need to be a genius to see that a team with all those things is going to have difficulty in possession. The manager is obviously the problem at the moment, but once again so many people try to blame the players.

The Liverpool fans in here are gas altogether - do they not realise Southamption have got points to move to 3rd? Maybe the think it's still last year, although it wouldn't be the first time they are living in the past :)

Falcao, Di Maria, Blind, Herrera, Mata, Fellaini?

    Not a great record?

Are you fúcking ****ting me??:confused::confused:

Man this place boggles the mind at times.

And are you actually using Fellaini and Mata as negatives?? What the ****, do you watch United games, we've been crying out for Fellaini the last month and Mata is the only person in the team offering any bit of creativity, I don't understand where you're coming from at all.

It's his duty. To sign players that manager asks for. Can't blame him.

Also can't blame him if manager plays a system that doesn't suit any of the players.
