The newest one, very good stuff

I tried to find it on the network before and couldn't find it. I've just found it. I've heard NOTHING but good reviews about this documentary. I'm watching it now.

It's logged me out, and I can't seem to log back in. Coincidentally I also cannot log into netflix.

Did anyone get one of the gift subscriptions to the network? I got one but it's not working. When I click the link to activate, it spends forever trying to load and never works.

I got 3 emails in the space of 9 minutes asking me to "Come Back to WWE Network for Royal Rumble"

Now with no commitment cancel anytime.

All that was missing was Pretty Please.

It's really off-putting, isn't it? "CANCEL ANYTIME DON'T WORRY YOU CAN LEAVE US", a prominent admission of poor standing, as opposed to telling you how awesome it is - because it is. That said, I've been watching more of the live channel - they have snippets of wrestler promos, one of them was this horrific tag promo introducing "The Lumberjacks" John Nord (BERZERKER!) & FLAPJACK Scott Norton in honour of how many pancakes he can eat. Holy mother of God. He pretty much said "don't make fun of me for this name" during it. Awesome.

any idea if wwe will be offering 1st month free with UK launch similiar to offer recently in US?

Season 1 of Tough Enough will be available Monday (it's up now but I can't find how to access it). It'll be the DVD version. FYI episode 3 is the one with the (excellent) Triple H verbal beatdown. Really enjoyed the re-launch of it in 2011, shame USA Network didn't order another season and the flop of the Network caused a further Network-exclusive season to be cut from WWE's budget. Damn, we got a 10-minute Austin promo/chewing out each week. Really great stuff.

Also noticeable for some of the few appearances of Kevin Dunn in the wild.

Has anyone been having trouble viewing the network?

I was trying to view earlier and had to turn it off.

    Constant freezing/buffering.

Tried it on Chrome, Firefox & internet explorer with the same results.

My PS4 also has issues, freeze for about half a second then skip back 5 seconds and resume on.

Season one has a promo from an applicant which states "YOU MUSS BE STOOPIFY"

I'll be all over this again.

I'm curious to know what you thought of the whole show afterwards? I really like that one. The first blood match between Tully Blanchard and Dusty Rhodes is great.

I'm glad that we are officially get WWE Network, one little nitpick is that we have to pay €12.99 (€3.00 extra) compared to standard price of 9.99 in every other country. €12.99 is not huge amount, but still why?

Just a guess but they might have to give Sky a cut to offset Sky's lost revenue hence why the two separate £/€ prices.

Sky aren't getting a cut of the WWE Network subscription cost. "Because they can" is the answer. :( It's more infuriating that they had 2 failed launches, with never an indication of a change of price point. This is the first time they've f**ked us over on the price. Canada get it for $10.12 US dollars.

That said, you can just sign up now...I have.

It was for a while, not now though. Can't seem to get Tough Enough to work either.

Quick question that someone may be able to answer.

I signed up on release day with unblock us.

Now that it's available over here (or will be shortly) will we be able to view as is but without having to turn on unblock us and therefore be charged the $9.99?

Or will a new account have to be set up to view the Irish / UK version and be charged the €12.99?

They could be testing access from the UK ahead of launch. It was the same the last time, some days the geo-=block was removed and other days it came back. Then on launch night, the geo-block was completely removed, but put back on an hour later after they pulled the launch.

I fully expect that our USA accounts will be able to access without the geo-block come next Monday evening.

Will be handy for 3G/4G viewing and when on some public or hotel Wifi where you can't change the DNS.

Short answer, you should be. Last time they launched in UK/Ireland, the geo-block was removed.

Keep your current account for now and ride it out and see what happens. Worst case scenario is you keep your US sub with un-block us. Still works out cheaper than the 12.99 and you get so much more with unblock-us... (access to BBC iPlayer, Sky Go when abroad, US Netflix etc).

    Cheers, thought that myself alright.

Had intended keeping UB-US anyway so little point swapping.

Yep my plan is to keep the US sub, keep unblock us, and WWE NET should work in Ireland if I'm ever away from home, so happy days. That's the ideal result of it anyway! :D

Watched the latest Batista thing there I really like him and i felt sort of sorry for him that his last run can be classified as a failure

I think you're wrong here. From this weeks observer:

"It’s interesting that the U.K. and Ireland will be significantly more expensive than anywhere else in the world, when the PPVs are less expensive in the U.K. than in most other markets.

There also could be a reason having to do with that they may have had to work out a deal with greater revenue splits." Dave was even stronger about this on their podcast the next day.

Think about it for a second. They were 20 minutes away from launching for $9.99 when they had to stop due to negotiations with Sky. They then decide to launch at a higher price point following those negotiations. The idea that one has nothing to do with the other is a long shot at best.

I understand the desire to paint the old "those robbing b*stards" picture, but it seems fairly clear that they had their hand forced.

Anyway, we can still get it for €11 using the unblock US/US network combo.:)

I don't have a "desire" to paint them as robbing b*stards - WWE have painted it themselves with a long history of the fact. Anyway, of course Dave would know more than me, but here's what I'm thinking: UK Network was blocked in 2014 due to WWE not having the right to undercut Sky PPVs under their current deal. I'd agree there'd be a revenue split if Sky were doing the Canada-job with Rogers, i.e. it's a channel, but they're not. The whole reason for the WWE Network is to not be at the mercy of other companies, sure USA had set to cancel RAW in 1998 (thankfully things turned around).

Perhaps to get the launch WWE promised X out of every subscription (or a lump sum to be paid monthly), and bumped it up to €13 to offset that. If that is the case, it seems like really bad business for WWE to have put themselves in this position, and are having to bend over for Sky. I'm certain the last thing WWE want is to have another company's hand in their pockets.

Oh, this Stephanie interview with The Sun from Jan 5th:
“It is important to note we continue our very strong relationship with BSkyB and we are proud to be their partner. But the WWE Network is exclusively owned by WWE so it is important for subscribers to know they can only sign up via WWE.com.”

Of course it's not exclusive where the sign-up money goes. In any case I've the $9.99/HOLA as well :)

The stories in the aftermath of the failed launch a couple of months ago were that Sky always knew that the PPVs would be free to Network subscribers but that that would kick in in 2015 and that had the understanding that they'd had when the new contract was signed. It doesn't make much sense that suddenly WWE have to pay a chunk of each UK subscription over to Sky.

It would make more sense to me that the UK/ROI price-point is broadly in line with what the rest of the World is going to need to start paying in the next few months.
