Yep, all I'll really be doing for Christmas is sorting the car :pac:

Going to wait until Jan for a front brake upgrade for mine! OEM front disks, and EBC greenstuff pads. Oh baby. These will replace, cheap (but adequate...) drilled/grooved front disks.

After Christmas I'm going to sort the small bit of rust on the boot and sort out the Cruise + Idle issue.

Have this lined up for the head unit: http://www.eonon.com/Car-GPS/Specific-Car-GPS/BMW/D5124F.html

You really go wrong with the night breakers they are a serious bulb I'd never use anything else now I'm used to them.

Awesome! I did the same on mine when I got it. Couldn't manage to fit the bulbs though... can't get the bloody retainer clip off. Might have to go to a garage for it. :(

Only other small bits to sort exterior wise is a small bumper crack and new Angel Eye bulbs, wheels can wait a while until I decide what I want :pac:

    Brazil
They get a lot of cars that are "brazil only" editions by american manufacturers like chevy

The branding is there but there is nothing American about these cars; more like early 90s Corsas and Vecteas. Indeed it is Brasil!

Just saw a lovely Chevy Camaro SS in Bumblebee trim, very cute and certainly stands out where I am as most of the cars are Fiat Palios or Chevy Celtas. I have a Chevy Spin as a rental which is a bit like a low spec Zafira with all the useful bits removed.

Where in the world am I?

Where are you in Brazil? :pac:

I'm heading there next year, just looking at rental cars now. Mrs. D said ahhh maybe rent the new Uno. I looked at the crash test results...

It's a pain in the arse... the spec is horrendous on all the rental cars. Looks like I may try get a Fiesta Sedan from Movida. Who did you book through?

That brazilian uno is kinda cool iirc.

Yeah it looks pretty nice and the kit on the tricked out version is quite good. Alloys, electric everything, lane departure warning, reversing camera, stop start, aircon etc..

Here's the Novo Uno Sporting. Obviously not a bog standard model. :p

They only stopped building the original Uno last year.

Yep. Lots of older stuff still being made down there. Chevrolet are still making a few models based on the Opel Corsa B!
Also, Renault sell all the Dacia models as Renault there.

    Is that not a Panda?

    Uncannily similar anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,294 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Its an old platform they use in developing countries that's been reskinned to look panda-ish

    This is the Palio

    Corsa C

    Really nice bodykit IMO.

The "Novo Ka" is the same idea. Old platform, reuse the name and spruce it up a bit too.

Yes, the C. Sorry, mixed up the models.

They still do the older Corsa in ungainly saloon form.

    Yummy

Funny, I saw a Fiat Palio on Monday.

It was white, 00-C reg, looked like a Punto estate. I had to take a second look.

Would that be from Brazil then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,294 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

They built them in Poland too and were sold in parts of Europe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,127 ✭✭✭job seeker

There was a B not sure if its still going like the saloon though

Nicer than what we have/had here. :)

EDIT: That might be a saloon above. Can't make out if it is or no.

If it's ok for me to mention the locked zombie thread on offside and nearside - I learned many moons ago that this was to do with horses.

I was told that offside referred to the side of the horse that you got "off" the horse. Offside.

It may be rubbish but I've never got them confused since learning this 25 years ago.

Hi, I'm interested in buying a Toyota Mr2/MrS.

Was hoping for a 04-06 model, but it seems to be impossible from the Irish market?

    What's my best plan otherwise?

Recently eradicated from Nigeria. Only a few left in Africa, and a flare-up in Pakistan because of the Taliban.

Still, the UN Palio eradication program seems to be going well.
