I had one a few years ago, probably more than i care to admit now, but they are a cracking gun. Only one, other than Beretta, that fits me every time.

I had to "look up along the rib" rather than straight down it, and usually block out the bird with the muzzle. However a small issue that very quickly becomes second nature. The build quality is good to excellent, the finish is tight and while fancy it's not tacky. The various options in terms of chokes, barrel lengths, etc. is good, and while not built by Beretta they are a company owned by Beretta. So good pedigree behind them.

For the price, which i think is usually around €1,200-ish for the sporting/top end model, they are good value. I used mine first one for clays as well as game and while the sporter would be classed as a bit heavy for game (just over 7 pounds) it's not a huge weight, and worked well for me all day on the clays. No mis fires and no issues with overheating.

A gun you would not regret buying.

Done the same myself some time back. Went through a phase of semi autos then had a hankering for an O/U again.

They are a great shotgun as described above. Are ya buying new or second hand?

That is a very keen price. The Bettinsoli Diamond has 4 or 5 different models from €1,080 or so up to €1,300+. I don't know them all, but some are Diamond deluxe, Diamond Sporter deluxe, Diamond, etc. Either way seems you got a real bargain.

Throw up some pictures when you get it lad, and congrats. Hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoyed mine.

Had one myself for a few years. Both firing pins had to be replaced, same with the Brothers. Suppose that cuoud happen with any gun. Didnt get heavy use or anythin. Found them heavy enough for carrying around for a whole days rough shootin. Grand gun in fairness especially if u want to have a few shots at clays.

    Best of luck with it.

I kept the semi-auto for rough / game shooting & use the Bettinsoli O/U Diamond for clay shooting. I have it now for 8 years - never any bother...an awful lot of gun for the money....solid & well - built.
